I've not got any newbies, and yet, I feel the need to repost (and edit and add to) my character babble all the same. Any excuse!
Chuck Bartowski (
knowsnokungfu)
Chuck: Is that your big secret, by the way? Cause I've been sitting here trying to figure out what's wrong with you...
Sarah: Oh plenty, believe me.
Chuck: And I was thinking either she's either a cannibal or she's really not that funny... and I was pulling for cannibal because I've never met one before.
- Is from the TV show Chuck! Which is an awesome fun little show that deserves far more love than it gets. It focuses on... strangely enough, Chuck! Who goes and gets a bunch of government secrets stuffed into his brain and drama and comedy ensues. My boy, however, is pre-canon, and knows none of this.
- Fifteen, about 5'10" (at this point anyway, he will eventually be about 6'4"), lanky, and the younger brother of awesomebigsis. Same universe and everything. He spent the summer she started here at home with their kind of nutso, paranoid and decidedly flaky father, and then started at FH in the fall.
- Since then his father has completely taken off and left Ellie and him alone. They've had a rough year. Hello, Daddy/abandonment issues!
- He is a little bit of a nerd.
- ... Okay, he's quite a lot of a nerd. In that adorable and dorky way that just makes you love him to pieces and want to ruffle his hair and take him home.
- The boy can BABBLE. Especially when he's nervous. It happens a lot around pretty girls and scary people. Doubly so around pretty girls who are also scary people. He runs into that more than you might imagine.
- Also a hopeful little romantic, even if it rarely works out well for him. By rarely works out well, I mean in canon he usually ends up with a gun against his head. Poor Chuck.
- Quite simply, he's a sweet, funny guy, and a little too trusting and naive for his own good.
- One of these days he'll end up with that government supercomputer in his noggin and get embroiled in a life full of spies, danger and conspiracies. One day!
- I need to get him out and about more!
- For those of you who don't watch and don't know: Chuck NBC Promo. WATCH AND LOVE.
Effy Stonem (
pastmewrong)
Effy: "You're an idiot. You were fucking the wrong girl. It's Cassie you love. You only got mixed up with Michelle because lets face it, men are dicks, and there was no one else to screw. Which is totally fucking pathetic. Isn't it?"
Sid: "... Has anyone ever told you Effy, this whole sneaking up on people, getting inside their head... It's not cool, okay?"
- Sixteen, a junior, 5'7", and another lanky brunette, this time from British TV show Skins.
- Enigmatic, rebellious, misanthropic and aloof, she's known for her 'shadowy ways', and doesn't like getting close to people because 'they fuck you up'... Well, obviously that's working out well for her here.
- Posterchild for Fille Fatale. TV Tropes have a big picture of her on the page and everything. There's a reason so many of her icons are dirty.
- Is a little manipulative, a lot secretive, and has a lot of trouble dealing with (and admitting she actually HAS) emotions. She likes to think she's independent, completely emotionally unflappable, and needs no one.
- This is a big fat lie, and has in fact become obvious to at least one person. There are definitely some chinks in that facade and they are getting picked away at slowly but surely.
- The girl does smoke, drink, swear and do drugs with absolutely no qualms. Believe it or not, I have dialed her back on that count, a LOT.
- That said, she is actually smart, even if she hides it well, and finds reading people and situations a lot easier than actually dealing with the emotional side.
- She was weirder and creepier [1] BEFORE she watched her brother get hit by a bus, which... is saying something, I think. Guilt and having to look after him did a lot for her.
- One of those messy and broken characters, and it has to get worse before it can get better. So... At least I'm probably going to be nicer than canon? Probably. They openly admit that "nothing can be happy when it comes to Effy" and she's usually in for heartbreak.
- On an OOC note! If there's anything she says/does that bothers you, please please talk to me, because she can be abrasive and will manipulate people for entertainment if she sees the opportunity. She doesn't really do it to be mean, she just can't help herself sometimes. OOC =/= IC and all that jazz.
- And for those of you that haven't seen this one: Skins Season Three Promo and a couple of little clips and a video diary, just to give you a feel for her. Warnings for the bad language and the casual drug use on this show.
[1] For interests sake, those freaky whispers are in fact an extract from James Joyce's 'Ulysses' read backwards. Who'd have guessed she was into that, right?
Angela Montenegro (
flashesforinfo):
"Oh, you have no idea how open minded I can be."
- Is from Bones. Pre-canon, eighteen, 5'9" a senior, and originates from the year 1995... or, I suppose '96 now. Still a little weird to her.
- Is one of those endlessly positive people, who believes in love and good times, and living in the moment, and all that good stuff.
- Will flash people for her amusement/to get what she wants. The fact I've only got to use this once in FH saddens me.
- She just looooooves people, and parties and drinking and dancing, and anything in that vein.
- Totally and utterly in love with Hannibal King, and currently chock full of all those mushy feelings that my other girl would roll her eyes at in disdain. Yes, still, even if she's fighting her own emotional reactions.
- Since she has a boyfriend and awesome love life of her own now, she'll be all for trying to fix up other people's. Little bit nosy, yes. She just wants people to be happy.
- Has one of those ways about her that seems to attract people and make them comfortable. She's usually got a smile, and will flirt with anything that moves.
- People will get called 'Sweetie' (or occasionally Honey, or whatever other little endearments come to her), whether they like it or not. It's her thing.
- She's got this famous father, who she doesn't bring up all that often, just because she likes to get by on her own merits not his. He is in fact in ZZ Top. Yes, that one.
- One day, she'll grow up to be a brilliant forensic artist, be BFF's with doesnt_vomit and design and create her own uber-holographic-visualisation-machine-thing, dubbed the Angelator. ... Give it a decade or so.
And as usual I'm just going to link back to
Cindy Mackenzie and
Shawn Farrell, since the likelihood of running into them is severely decreased due to that alumni status.
Hi! I'm Emma, a twenty-two year old bioinformatics graduate (no-one knows what this is, you are not alone!) living in England on GMT, a time zone that is completely real tyvm. Currently working in a big high street bookstore and therefore my availability is heavily based on my work schedule. I have very limited access there ie. via my phone on breaks. So if you get one ping, middle of the day, on its lonesome, that'll be why. Other than that, I'm generally around evenings up until midnight GMT.
I'm very easy to get along with, I promise, and a huge dork. So, while I am absolutely horrible at getting down to pinging people OOC-ly when I don't really know them, people are absolutely welcome (and encouraged) to grab me if I'm on AIM (ihatefrills) or shoot me an email (3.mackenzie [at] googlemail [dot] com) to plot or chat, or whatever. If I'm bored, I will tend to get talky at you, even if it's just supposed to be quick. Sorry?
Totally used this mood just for the picture. Whaaat?
