note: sorry for using this topic so often. :/ also, i used openoffice to type this up, which is why the format might be wonky.
all gone
Somehow, “goodbyes” never reach their lips. Wooyoung refuses to acknowledge that their relationship is defined by such a word. And Jaebeom really just feels that it's too damn painful. And so, until the end, Wooyoung forces himself to think that this is just a temporary parting. Jaebeom doesn't think. Not at all.
It's only until they're at the airport that Wooyoung starts to miss him.
“But I'm right here” Jaebeom says. “I'm still here, Wooyoung-ah.”
“I know...and that makes me miss you even more.”
Through the whole exchange, Junho grips at this own arms and Nichkhun stares at the floor. Taecyeon is busy trying to put on a brave front. Junsu just keeps on sighing like the world is going to end tomorrow. Chansung shudders, then shakes his head over and over.
When the PA system announces that the flight is now boarding and will all passengers please report to the gate?, Jaebeom tries for a smile. He fails but no one really blames him. When Jaebeom finally turns and disappears behind the corner, it's awfully anti-climactic. No one breaks down. No one starts sobbing.
In fact, Wooyoung has stopped crying completely.
There's nothing at all dramatic about Jaebeom's departure. Except when they all get home, to the apartment that suddenly feels bigger for no reason, everyone feels the hollowness like a chronic condition in their chest.
It's 'one less' but really, Wooyoung thinks, it's 'all gone'.
