Wow, What a Weekend...
Hello to all,
How was your weekend? I've had a crazy 4 days. However, they have been really great. While most of you were sleeping in Friday mourning cause school got out for cold, I was with Andy, Thomas, Geoff, Steph V., Steph L, and Matt D in Peoria at All-State.
Thursday, we left school around 8. Then, we checked into our hotel once we got there. It wasn't the greatest of hotels, which I will explain in a little. After checking in, we went to our first rehersal. I wasn't sure what to expect after last year with Andre Thomas. He was so freakin amazing. But, I wanted to keep an open mind about the new director. The music, however, I deffinately did not talk like I had an open mind about it. But it turned out better than expected. Anyways, first rehersal went well. Went to lunch and then had afternoon sectional. Then decided that we weren't hungry and went to the Pere Marquette Hotel and I couldn't go more than 5 minutes without seeing someone I knew, most of them because of my dad. Anyways, had another rehersal and then went to a concert. It was a great concert. The theme was "Alternative Music," but not like guitar/band alternative music. They had a group of handbell ringers, and man who played banjo with orchestra, and jazz/latin big band, and then an a cappella mens group: Chapter 6. It was so cool. I have one of their cds. On the Rocks are a little better, but these guys were amazing to see in person. I loved it. Then we went back and rehersed til 10:30. We finally got back to the hotel and spent like a half hour trying to find food. Ended up at a Walgreens and got a bunch of snacky stuff. Then, finally went to bed; but, we had a rave with "Toxic" and flashing the lights on and off.
Friday, I woke up with Andy telling me that my teeth were chattering really loud, cause all I had was a bed sheet, cause Thomas needed blankets. So, finally got up and had about 7 hours of rehersal, again. We then went back to the hotel and just hung out with the guys. I finally got up and ironed my shirt and pants for the concert the next day, and the guys started making fun of me. That then inspired them to call some girls and we ended up having a 45 minute conversation with some girls over at shannon's house and everyone was passing the phone around. For dinner, we ordered out Avanti's, and it was good. Anyways, finished up and went to bed.
Saturday, we had the concert. It went well. I enjoyed all the performaces. Except the PrarieSong was stupid. But, whatever. Anyways, then went over to Thomas's house for his birthday and watched Donnie Darko. It was an awsome, but weird, movie, but I couldn't see the end cause I had to leave. I had a lot of fun over there though. So, anyways, yeah, there's my weekend. Hope you all had a good weekend, and I'll talk to ya later.
