On November 21, THE PASSPORT LABEL unleashes LOVE OF DIAGRAMS’ stomping new single ‘No Way Out’. Complemented by equally frenetic b-side ‘In The Red’, the 7” is the debut UK release for this exciting young Australian band. With their first live shows in early 2001, LOVE OF DIAGRAMS made an immediate impact on the Australian music scene. Combining the experimentation of New York No Wave, with the immediacy and tunefulness of classic English Post Punk, LOVE OF DIAGRAMS arrived with their own fully formed sound based on these passions.

As a result of the innate musical affinity between the three players: the incredible driving beats of drummer Monika Fikerle, the intertwining, angular, tag-team guitar/bass lines of Luke Horton and Antonia Sellbach, and the passionate, immediate, call-and-response vocal delivery of all three, the band has quickly become a hugely popular live sensation as well as a critical favourite.

been busy too. In 2003, LOVE OF DIAGRAMS released their debut record, ‘The Target is You' in Australia, to much acclaim and radio support. They followed this with an extensive tour of Europe and Japan. Along the way, the band has played with an impressive roll call of renowned acts such as Death Cab For Cutie, The Faint, Les Savy Fav, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Dresden Dolls, Moving Units, The Rogers Sisters and Electrelane.

In the coming months, LOVE OF DIAGRAMS are also set to have their single featured in Channel 4’s music savvy The O.C., and MTV have already picked up on the band’s self-produced video (streaming from www.messandnoise.com/cinema.asp?id=35967 ). Additionally, ‘No Way Out’ has already received support at radio on John Kennedy’s XFM show.

The trio embarked on their first tour of America this year, and will be playing their first UK shows in November. LOVE OF DIAGRAMS return to the US in December to record their sophomore album with Bob Weston (Shellac) at Electric Audio Studios in Chicago.
