Glad I'm not shouting into empty space (hi, friends!). Moving right along, here are some photos from last week/weekend, which aptly chronicle the larger changes afoot in my life right now:
[Snaptemberrr 4-7]September 4, received phone call from husband on the penultimate day of his job(/life) as a lawyer. I found the ID screen pretty funny (it's probably supposed to say "Weil Houston"):
Bonus pic-of-a-pic of my college pals and I on NYE '10 in DC with our poker faces and a Lady Gaga impersonator (not a dude, unfortunately).
September 5, Sara is sad that Justin had to give up his firm-issued laptop bag on his departure. It was her favorite to lie on; this leather bag, while nicer, is Just Not The Same:
Justin is going from lawyer to BREWER: today was his first day as a brewer at Saint Arnold, Houston's oldest and biggest craft brewery. He's been homebrewing for a few years so he has some knowledge of the process, but this is definitely the start of a whole new life for us (especially since he's on the 4 am - noon shift right now, oof).
But before he did that, we had a fun weekend, hitting up rival breweries Buffalo Bayou and 8th Wonder on Saturday before going to a Houston Dynamo game, where they beat Montreal Impact 3-2. Here is Dynamo's mascot Diesel, cavorting in the stands behind me:
Sunday was quieter and I ran a couple errands, taking our bikes for a tune-up and then getting trapped at Home Depot on the hunt for wasp killer because a torrential Texas thunderstorm passed through. This unoriginal graffiti I found wandering the aisles, hoping the rain would stop (or become less torrential; driving sucks in such weather):
Lucky for Home Depot, I impulse-bought a Swiffer extended arm 360 duster during my rain sequestration; miraculously saved myself from buying a bunch of Halloween window clings. Kat = sucker for holiday crap.
