Describe a significant event that brought you closer to, or further away, from your religious devotions. The spiritual life can come upon a person in a sweeping moment or over the course of a long period of time. Have you ever experienced visions or other moments of a spiritual nature? If you had a single moment that you can recall, describe the details leading up to and following that epiphany. How did it change your life afterwards? If you slowly gravitated to a religious tradition or a way of thinking about the divine, show in a series of snapshots how you were brought closer and closer to the spiritual over that time.

Well in all actuality my family has never really been like churchy by anymeans. growing up my mom and dad would take turns taking my brother and I to sunday school and mom my would reteenly forget that it was her turn to get us which left my brother and i stuck at the church for hours.  And a few times we walked home and got a tongue lashing because of it. So yeah church has never really been a good thing in my life. But since my dad got remarried his whole like sight on god has changed. He's actually going to be confirmed next weekend. (were luthern but hes becomming catholic like my step mom is) my mom doesnt know but then again she doesnt need to . it would be just one morething that she would bitch about im sure.. and then shed go off onto a rant about like how zach and I are like bastards inthe eyes of the church blah blah blah and what the fuck ever else. I do have to say though that i do on ocassion enjoy going to church because of the singing. :) but the whole like preacher/pastor.minster what ever rants get me down. Theres a church in sioux falls that has their own christian rock band so thats fun to go to :) otherwise the whole "if you dont sacrific your whole being to god and his teaching you will go to hell and be danmed for all eternity" just really doesnt float my boat... Mayeb thats why I didnt much like american lit. Because it was all about christian fire and brimestone bullshit. like who was it john edwards and the whole your a spider hanging over the fires of hell blah blah blah.. yeah i dont know... I more enjoy my grandparents veiw on the whole thing/ You dont have to be a frequent chruch goer but should ocassionally and that as long as what ever you believe you believe without hasitation (and as long as its not cultish) then go for it. If you ddont believe in "God" necessarily but do believe in a higher spirit then fine.  and if you believe nature is a way for you to get closer to it then fine go outside be one with your spirit.. ok well enough rant for me Laters
