A thought
I don't think that there could be any worse "gift" than that of immortality.
Oh, the things you would learn and see plenty. You could travel and experience and that would all be lovely. But as I see it, you would have two options: you would either have to live without connections or you would have to turn your heart to stone.
The first lifetime would undoubtedly be the hardest. You would have to watch everyone you've ever loved - ever known - die, while you remain alive.
That's the worst possible thing I can think of.
