Again sort of incredulous that it's time for that end-of-the-year thing again..

Dec 06, 2005 18:32

I guess I'm kind of not so surprised though this year. A year ago I was finishing at Iowa State, and in a little over a week it'll be a year from when I started my job, and those do both seem rather long ago at this point. Okay yeah, I think it feels like a year this time. It's suddenly seeming even longer..

1) Was 2005 a good year for you?
it was okay..and kinda strange

2) What was your favorite moment of the year?
hmm, I'll check out the trusty calendar since I tend to not be able to remember such things on cue:
Maine (especially that one night watching the sunset on the beach, Acadia and Bar Harbor, the long walk alone I took on the beach at the end), Chicago with Natalya, Cherine, and Erica (the mexican restaurant outdoors) and karaoke and visiting Stevenson that same week, silly drunkness with Penny the other night, the Rockford excursion, having time to sit and relax and be alone in my room....

3) What was your least favorite moment of the year?
the family fighting epidemic, stress of mostly my own doing, Mary dying

4) Where were you when 2005 began?
at home after having returned a couple weeks prior from Iowa State; on New Years itself I was relaxing at home with my family

5) Who were you with?
..see above

6) Where will you be when 2005 ends?
back from Israel :) ..not sure what I'm doing yet on the holiday

7) Who will you be with when 2005 ends?
friends and/or family

8) Did you keep your new years resolution of 2005?
I didn't make any because I knew it was pointless.. I did actually try to lose weight though without committing it to a resolution and it worked for a few weeks

9) Do you have a new years resolution for 2006
I'm not sure..I might refrain again this year since I never take them seriously

10) Did you fall in love in 2005?
nope

11) If yes, do they know?
..

12) Are you still in love with them?:
...

13) You regret it?
....couldn't these all have been combined into one question?

14) Did you breakup with anyone in 2005?
no one to break up with

15) Did you make any new friends in 2005?
acquaintances more than friends..some people at work and at school I'd talk to a little bit

16) Who are your favorite new friend?
is, you mean (oh darn there I go correcting grammar when my linguistics teacher advised against it..) ..don't really have a new friend like I said, there are some cool people in environmental studies at NEIU, but I haven't gotten that close with them..talked the most with Stella

17) What was your favorite month of 2005?
um..hopefully December, due to the rest of the month :)

19) Did you travel outside of the US in 2005?
I will be in a week!!

20) How many different states did you travel to in 2005?
hmm..strangely I wasn't in Iowa since I was back already by the start of the year; Illinois obviously, and Wisconsin once....omg MAINE! I told you my mind goes a blank on these things..and within the Maine trip I was in Massachussetts and New Hampshire briefly

21) Did you lose anybody close to you in 2005?
yes..Mary. I can't believe I was starting to type no. That's sad in itself, wow. We never did get as close as I was hoping in that last month..waited just too long.

22) Did you miss anybody in the past year?
yeah sometimes, people I didn't see much/at all; I did enjoy my solitary time though too

23) What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2005?
I resaw Moulin Rouge for the 3rd time, rewatched the Notebook (2nd time), resaw my all-time favorite movie Titanic (7th time)....some new ones (for me) I really liked: Almost Famous, the Basketball Diaries, A Very Long Engagement, Shakespeare in Love, Heavenly Creatures (I think it had to have been this year, but I'm not finding it on my calendar)..

24) What was your favorite song from 2005? (again, not all new in this year)
Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends, Damien Rice - The Blower's Daughter, Gary Jules - Mad World, Gavin Degraw - Chariot, Bright Eyes - First Day of my Life, Otis Redding - On the Dock of the Bay, Elton John - Tiny Dancer, Keane - Somewhere Only We Know; Azure Ray - Displaced, celtic music- Loreena McKennitt, Gaelic Storm..

25) What was your favorite record from 2005?
I rediscovered Let's Talk About Love in the last week or so, Moulin Rouge soundtrack, Our Lady Peace - Healthy in Paranoid Times is good..um, mixes of music, I just bought that Patchouli one recently that's good

26) How many concerts did you see in 2005?
Our Lady Peace in October at the Vic, people from Grand Funk Railroad and people from ELO performing at outdoor free summer concerts in their respective current groups, some other free concert groups, Banda Rika, a Beatles cover band..

27) Did you have a favorite concert in 2005?
well Our Lady Peace was the "biggest" for me, but they all were fun in their varying ways

28) Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2005?
not often, but I did have what I consider my first drunk experience and then my first silly drunk experience

29) Did you do a lot of drugs in 2005?
none

30) How many people did you sleep with in 2005?
nada

31) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?
yeah, some things

33) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2005?
if they lied how would I know? i'm really not sure

34) Did you treat somebody badly in 2005?
yeah, sometimes..not really intentionally though, and nothing all that specifically

35) Did somebody treat you badly in 2005?
sometimes

36) How much money did you spend in 2005?
a good amount, more than I've ever spent in a year I'm sure- on a car, insurance (some car and some health), tow truck/car repairs, gas, now the flight to Miami and hotel stay there (my parents have helped with more of this than I wanted them to though); however, I also made much more money this year than I even have before, so I definitely came out ahead

37) What was your proudest moment of 2005?
um..um...making a definite decision to leave Iowa State and not being regretful of it. I can be proud of that in a weird, twisted way.

38) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2005?
embarrassing, huh..hmm, I know there's something I'm just not thinking of

39) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2005 and change something, what would it be?
bring Mary inside in the heat instead of leaving her in the garage probably..although one can never know what would have been; parking my car in a private lot, running out of gas, passing a school bus (shh)

40.) What are your plans for 2006?
-spring semester at northeastern (4 classes) while working part-time still
-getting an environmentally-related awesome internship for the summer (at a national park would be really great)
-possibly getting an apartment with Penny in the fall
-fall semester at neiu and working out what else I'll need to graduate
-being happy
-maybe having a romantic-type relationship if something were to come about
-travelling if the opportunity were to arise

survey, 2005, the year
