Had a good Thanksgiving. <3 Baked lots of cookies and we had a small mountain of food for just the three of us. This weekend we put up our Christmas tree after a few misadventures with the lights. We kept getting light strands that kept shorting out and eventually just returned them and got different ones somewhere else. I think the tree looks very pretty. Alex helped decorate the big tree and a small tree we have on our kitchen table. Later today, I need to clear off a space on my dresser for our fiber-optic tree. It's very relaxing to watch. <3
Yes, we have multiple trees.
I finished it yesterday and absolutely loved it. <3 I managed to get all 108 stars. I'm really hoping that there will be sequels to this game. I loved the characters and nations and just the plot in general, even if it creeped me out. Places just getting erased and no one but the Starbearers remembering them is just really creepy. XD; And that they were all fighting the same whack job in every world simultaneously was pretty creepy, too. The One King was an interesting villain though I wish we could've seen more of him. I liked all the archivists, too, even Valfred, and the Order folks.
I also liked the music. Absolutely loved the music. The support characters made me very happy, too. I eventually started using more people than just Erin and Eunice; I used Sotah, Ramin, and Nuzhbat a fair bit, too. Yay for bonus EXP, randomly putting your party into Fury, and boosting your mages' attack power. My favorite tracks were the music in Pharamond, the music in Grayridge, and Ramin's music. Definitely want to get this soundtrack.
I tried everyone out in this game and wound up with a few favorites. Chrodechild and Fredegund rarely left my party. I used the gunner trio a lot, too, their combo was just too useful for wiping out the screen in one hit. >.> My final party wound up being Chrodechild, Fredegund, Asad, and Ramin though I found myself wishing I'd brought Erin or Eunice instead of Ramin by the end battle. Oh, well, I still beat the One King and he wasn't killed in the first round like Macoute and Beardsley were. >.>; I may have made my characters more pimp than I thought I had. The Hero was doing circa 4000 per hit with Two-Way Strike while in Fury and Fredegund was doing similar damage with True Falcon during Fury. Asad was useful as always. I had him equipped with the Goddess Breath, Old Raiments, and a Moon Necklace. I set his skills to Healing Tide, Magic Canopy, Defense Canopy, and Havoc Cyclone. Spamming Divine Edge with the sisters when I ran out of MP and Asad was refilling everyone worked pretty well, too. Asad wound up my healer/item monkey. Didn't get a chance to use Havoc Cyclone as much as I'd hoped for because the One King was surprisingly cheap and kept using a group attack that put all my characters HP in the red (even with the canopy spells up at levels 61 and 58 across the board) every other turn.
I liked the ending. I squeed a little when everyone across the Infinity were fighting the One King at the same time. I was happy that Atrie and the Hero got to see each other again. I loled at some of the character blurbs (Busche's, Tsaubern's, and Ramin's in particular). I liked the scene with Zenoa, too (okay, I just like Zenoa, she's annoyingly awesome and she explained what the Starbearers were which was nice).
It's been a while since I've gotten into any ships and this one had a number that pushed my buttons. It's hard to ship Chrodechild with anyone without involving Fredegund into the mix. XD; Asad's crush on Chrodechild is cute, too, and I loled at his comment about Fredegund being his main competition for her affections. XD Chrodechild and Fredegund were a little bit on the slashy side, sisters or not. XD; Liu and Len-Lien were cute, too. I didn't go into this game looking for characters to slash but I wound up slashing Shams and Taj right away and it just got worse. XD; And then I recruited Tsaubern. Oh, Tsaubern. XD; He and Yula were fantastic and I cracked up at Tsaubern tickling Busche randomly and Busche shooting at the Hero later thinking it was him. XD; And then Busche wound up working for Tsaubern after the war? XD Hee, oh the fic potential. I wounded up slashing the Hero and Atrie, too.
This game definitely rekindled my love for Suikoden. And apparently repaired my slash goggles, too. <3
And randomly, Roberto reminded me a lot of Flik.
