My biggest disappointment lately was that Jodi couldn’t come to see me because of money issues. She says that she will most likely be up for Winter Carnival though, so I’m still kinda pumped about that. The only problem with that idea is the insane amount of homework that I will most likely have to do during Winter Carnival. The all-nighter for Winter Carnival begins on Wednesday, February 8th. I get a 4 day weekend! Numerous frats and sororities are building the statues right now. There are HUGE walls that are being constructed all over campus. I can’t wait to see how they turn out this time around.
I saw Underworld: Evolution tonight and it was amazing! They got to unleash the superbeast upon the lycans and the vampires. I was blown away by some of the visual effects that were used. It was done fairly well for only a 40 million dollar budget movie.
Here is my wicked homework schedule for this weekend:
Computer Science 1122 - start working on TokenFinder Program + read 15.1-15.2
Digital Logic - finish homework assignment 1 on circuit logic + read Chapter 3 (90 pages)
Calculus II with Technology - Done woo!
Mathlab - Done woo!
Revisions - read Chapter 3 for Monday
Linear Algebra - finish quiz
Electrical Engineering Lab - do the prelab for next week + research time varying signals
Enterprise - prepare for the team’s first meeting
Object Oriented Design - start working on the first program
I have a Broomball game at 5:45 pm on Saturday…today and I need to do laundry and possibly help my floor out with building our snow statue.
Good news! I haven’t fallen asleep in any of my classes yet. That’s a good sign because my classes are pretty boring.
Computer Science is going just swell right now. I need to being work on my second program which is going to be a pain in the ass, but I’m sure that I’ll manage. I have to make a TokenFinder program now. It’s basically a program that finds all the characters in a group of characters and lets you know which characters were in the line in the order that they appear in.
I’ve learned pretty much nothing so far in Linear Algebra. The Professor doesn’t make a good instructor because he doesn’t explain things good enough while he is writing them out and he writes at about a bazillion mph. He does put all of his notes and scoop information up on the web though so I grab everything and save it to my computer for my reference later on when I need to study it. I aced my first quiz with 41 outta 42 points so I’m feeling pretty good about the class even though the Professor wears 2 watches. That’s right, I said 2. I dunno what the second watch is for, but I joke about it and tell everyone that he can’t tell time on an analog watch so he uses the second one to practice and he makes his best estimation. Then he checks the digital watch with the analog watch to see how accurate he is.
Digital Logic is really monotone, but it isn’t all that difficult yet. We’re mostly working with logic circuits and truth tables for now.
Revisions is really boring. I’ve had to write a few papers so far. My most recent paper is 4 pages about two different energy drinks, Lost and Monster. Oh boy! I bet that you would just love to read my rhetorical analysis comparison paper on energy drinks.
Electrical Engineering Lab was quite a mess this week. I was uncertain as to how to hook up the wires to my breadboard and take the required measurements. The figures that they have drawn for you really aren’t all that helpful because they don’t show a physical representation of the wires and where they should be connected. The teaching assistant helped me out and I was able to finish the lab with the given 2 hours. Josh and I are lab partners and we have to do a presentation in a few weeks on Time Varying Signals.
Object Oriented Design and Calc. II are going just fine. There isn’t a whole lot of new material that we have covered in these classes just yet.
In Enterprise I now have 4 people working under me because I am the new Team Leader of Level Design. I can’t wait to see how much more productive I can be now that I have some help with all of this stuff. We have our first meeting this Tuesday coming up and that’s when I’ll probably get things rolling.
Broomball is going awesome so far. We’ve won both of our games so far. The first game we was 4-2 and the second was 2-0. I got a lion stamp on my Jersey for having a shut out game! Our team is a lot better then last year and we’ve been practicing more so that we can finally step our game up and win some.
It’s getting’ pretty late though so I think I’m gonna head to bed. Big day tomorrow. Lots to do with so little time.
