California Standardized Tests.

Let me start off by saying that the State of California's Department of Education has really, really low expectations of high school students. After taking the CAHSEE last year, that much was obvious. But what I hadn't realized was how easy our California Standards Tests are. That said, I do well on the CSTs every year and totally BEASTED the CAHSEE last year.

Those of you who took the tenth grade at a high school in California know that I'm not bragging. I'm simply proving to the world that I have a brain and I do, in fact, use it.

Example of the CAHSEE's reputation? Google 'How easy...' Just those two words.

Your number three option is 'How easy is the CAHSEE.'

You know what, CDE? I get it. As teenagers, we don't instill much confidence. We have a 40% dropout rate and that's only rising.

But seriously, you gave us two hours to do a test that my whole class (myself included) finished within thirty minutes. I watched 10 Things I Hate About You on my phone, finished it, and then started Frost/Nixon.

Just sayin', we deserve a bit more respect than 'what is the reciprocal of 12.'

It would be much appreciated.
