Word count: 14, 754, for both parts combined (give or take a few with tweaks).
Warnings/Rating: Usually rated Teen (14 and up). Will other times be rated R or NC-17, as it is rated R for this update. (The main teenage characters are 18 - 17 at the least.)

Author's notes: First updated on May 31, 2011. Then on June 2, 2011. Fire Ignited (the conclusion) is on its way. And I'll try to hurry with getting it out there for you all to read, and then Blue Paradise after that. Taking a month to update is not fun for me either, especially taking two or three (or four months, as I did with Blue Paradise and pretty much with this). On a side note: This series - Flaming Dead - has been changed to present tense (yep, that means previous parts too; I will be working on transferring all of that during this week and weekend), because I feel that present tense is more inline with episode formats...even if this is book format. Basically, I feel that present tense makes more sense for fiction anyway, since we are viewing it in our heads as happening in the present. Although, I do love reading either present or past tense. And to newbies to this series, don't feel that it's too late to comment on any part. I appreciate comments and even feel that they are essential to motivating fanfic writers to continue on with a story, as most of my readers know. In fact, the only reason I'm still updating this story is due to readers. Not for myself. I like it well enough, but I would have been quit telling this tale if I felt people generally weren't interested/didn't care. I'm busy enough as it is, LOL.
Usual note, with update: Third non-script format piece from me. I decided to blend one of the script projects I created years ago, and am now working on again, with Legend of the Seeker. It goes under a different name and has nothing to do with Legend of the Seeker in real-life, but within this story -- it does. This means my original characters and premise for another story are being infused into this one. Two of the main characters are traded out with Cara and Kahlan instead, and some things are mixed in. Some have compared it to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, minus the vampires thus far. Transferred into book format for most desired reading within fanfiction fandom. The story is also available at Fanfiction.net (PG-13/TV-14 version only).
Summary: It has been many, many years since the Legend of the Seeker was uttered from people's lips, and the 21st century has long since arrived. Much has changed, but evil remains, and heroes are needed. The teenage reincarnations of Cara Mason and Kahlan Amnell hope to fill this void.

Previously: (on Episode 3) The gang are back to fighting creatures of the night. Kahlan is given advice about her love life, and ponders what to do about her feelings for Cara, while Cara seeks other means regarding her own confusing feelings. This comes just as the two are invited to a slumber party, which ultimately forces the duo into intimate interaction with each other. Meanwhile, Hyper becomes the crush of one new, very mysterious girl. (On the Interlude) Kahlan, who has been feeling lonely for what seems like most of her life, unexpectedly meets Cara in a grocery store. It has been two days since their kiss at the night club, and Cara has come to a conclusion about herself.

Episode 4 summary: King Zombie is back, and with his most lethal plan yet. Kahlan ends things with Big Bertha, while Cara wants to end things with Bobby but is tempted to change her mind. Both women remain conflicted about what type of relationship it is they should have, but Kahlan is determined for Cara to make a well thought-out decision. Cara wonders what this "well thought-out decision" must entail, just as another shows interest in her. Gicko becomes jealous of Hyper's interaction with Amber, and Cara's tryout for the track team leads to an intense confrontation with Kahlan while alone in the girls locker room.
