A/N: A little utopia for IDF. Let's make it real someday.
One fine day...
we'll wake up each day to a world where women exectutives make up half of the staff of each network with equal pay. We'll shake our heads and laugh at those silly times when it was any different.
There will come a time when we can enjoy TV again and fall in love with a good show without the fear of losing it after half a season because the people in charge will have overcome the short-sighted, lack of vision ways of their predecessors.
The women on TV will be characters we'll be able to identify with and/or squee over, and those characters will make their own choices about career, relationships and motherhood. The stories will be told according to those characters and not yielding to any conservative forces. There'll be no last minute breaking up of lesbian couples for absolutely stupid reasons or cheap thrills. There's no choking the subtext with some unnecessary love interest out of the blue.
It will be noticed and acknowledged that there is an audience for that kind of TV. The sponsors will notice because baby, women over 35 do have their own money and they do buy things!
Today, we are no one to TPTB.
One fine day, they'll be long gone in favor of a better TV world.
Isn't that day worth a dream?
HAPPY IDF!!
(in honor of Pepa y Silvia, Lindsay and Cindy and all the characters who've been done wrong)
