A/N: After the botched wedding..
Natalia knelt beside her her bed and prayed. She prayed for strength and understanding. She prayed for forgiveness for what she'd done and what she hadn't done yet..
Gus had always seen something special about Olivia but Natalia had disliked the woman from the very start. After Gus died Natalia wouldn't stop looking for something more inside Olivia, and she found it. Time after time Olivia would surprise her with her kindness and generosity. Natalia smiled at the thought.
All the things that had been left unsaid between the two women, that's what had been killing them both. Now she knew Olivia loved her and she knew she loved Olivia. What else did she know? Words Olivia had said to her started to fall into place.
"I can't give you what you deserve." The memory echoed in Natalia's mind.
Another long forgotten memory popped into the forefront of Natalia's mind of Olivia depressed and suicidal. She'd taken away Olivia's choice to die. She simple would not allow her to waste the gift of Gus's heart.
Natalia's thoughts shifted gears and she began to wonder why she had allowed the situation to get so out of hand. She had allowed everyone around her to make her decisions for her. Natalia was a capable person, why had she allowed it to happen? The only answer she could come up with was that deep down she wanted someone to make those hard decisions for her. Natalia knew on some level what Olivia had been feeling and she also knew that Olivia's behavior, although misguided was done with the best of intentions. Natalia knew that Olivia only wanted the best for her. She also knew that Olivia was wrong.
Everything fell into place in Natalia's mind as a big smile overtook her face. She grabbed her cellphone and called the hotel. "Hi, yeah it's me Natalia. I need you to do something for me."
'There is no us.' Olivia kept repeating in her mind. Olivia closes her eyes tightly to her desperate thoughts. 'There is no us.'
"God what the hell am I doing?" She asked herself as she tried to control the pain inside of her, failing as tears spilled silently down her cheeks.
Olivia threw herself into her work trying to avoid all thoughts of Natalia but the brunettes face hovered on the very edge of her vision all day driving her mad.
"I hate being in love." Olivia griped under her breath as she did her paperwork.
Olivia headed home, well to her new house anyway. It didn't feel like home to Olivia. She unlocked the front door and opened it. The place was practically bare.
"Did I get robbed?" Olivia questioned as her eyes narrowed in thought. She looked around more closely. Nope much to clean and organized to be thieves she concluded.
Olivia had a sneaking suspicion that Natalia was somehow behind everything. She grabbed her cell and dialed Jane. "Yeah you picked her up right? Yeah can you bring her to your place for a little while. There's something I need to do."
The boxes had finally stopped piling in and Natalia was busily rushing to put everything back where it was supposed to be. Olivia's bedroom was now perfect and so was Emma's. Natalia was pretty proud of herself for conning the employee's at the hotel into helping her with this scheme. Natalia had just finished putting their pictures back up when she heard the knock on the door. 'Right on time Olivia.' Natalia thought to herself with a grin.
Natalia opened the door with the smile still on her face. The sight that greeted her from behind the door was a very angry Olivia.
"What in the hell do you think you're doing?!" Olivia burst out.
"What do you mean?" Natalia asked deciding to play dumb.
"You know exactly what I mean. You had all my stuff moved back into this house!" Olivia exclaimed as she pointed at various objects in the living room that were hers.
"You're right I did." Natalia admitted with a slight nod.
"Well what in God's name were you thinking?" Olivia asked her beautiful eyes flashing.
Natalia smiled and bit her lip. "Well what I'm thinking now is that you are gorgeous when you're angry." Natalia explained.
Olivia had been in full rant mode before but the comment from Natalia seemed to have stopped her cold as she stood there staring her mouth agape.
"And as for what I was thinking when I conned everyone into helping me move yours and Emma's stuff back here.. well I was thinking about how much I missed my family and how happy I'd be with you both home." Natalia explained to the now silent woman in front of her.
"Oh." Olivia began, forcing more anger into her voice than she really felt. "What makes you think you can make a decision like that for me?" She asked. Natalia sees the hardness, the sadness, and the pain in Olivia's eyes. Natalia knows how this is going to play out.
"What makes you think you can marry me off to Frank? What makes you think that you can make a decision like that for me?" Natalia asked pointedly.
A shutter seemed to lift from Olivia's eyes as her anger deflated and turned into tears.
"I can't." Olivia choked out as she realized the extent of what she'd done.
Now she knew how wrong it had been to make decisions for Natalia. She also knew she couldn't give Natalia what she deserved.
"I can't." Olivia gasped out again as she closed her eyes tightly.
"What can't you do hmm?" Natalia asked as she stepped closer to Olivia. "I can't stop being in love with you Olivia. I can't and I'm done trying. Sweetie, you need to stop running. Come home." Natalia commanded softly as she touched Olivia's tear stained cheek causing the older womans' eyes to reopen.
"There are those stunning eyes." Natalia breathed out as she stroked Olivia's cheek enjoying the softness of her skin.
Olivia couldn't move. She was frozen in place as Natalia's eyes pinned her down. Those brown eyes shone with strength and resolve. 'She called me sweetie.' Olivia thought in shock.
"I'm not good enough for you." Olivia whispered as she sniffed averting her gaze.
"Good enough? What does that have to do with anything?" Natalia asked as she shook her head grasping Olivia's hands in hers.
"Olivia do you love me?" she asked forcing Olivia to look into her eyes once more.
"You know I do." Olivia replied. "But.."
"No." Natalia said interrupting. "No buts Olivia. Did you ever think that maybe your under estimations and over estimations are completely pointless, that maybe we're just meant to be together?"
Natalia knew that Olivia was close to breaking. 'One more push, just one.' Natalia thought to herself. Natalia leaned in towards Olivia as she heard the phone ring. Olivia jumped back as if she'd been shocked.
"Don't you think you should get that?" Olivia asked the brunette as the phone continued to ring.
Natalia shook her head in response to Olivia's question as she ignored the phone all together and moved in on Olivia giving her no opportunity to run.
"I have something more important I'd like to get." Natalia breathed out just before her lips met Olivia's and she swore she heard angels singing.
The kiss intensified immediately as the two women immediately wrapped around one another. They were as close as two people could possibly be when the phone finally stopped ringing.
When their lips parted they stayed wrapped up in each others arms trying to catch their combined breaths.
"See." Natalia gasped out. "Meant to be."
Olivia could see the seriousness, the love, the passion all reflected back at her in Natalia's eyes. 'Maybe Natalia's right. In my arms she feels right.' Olivia thinks to herself. Then she noticed how Natalia glowed in her embrace and realized right then that Natalia really did love her.
"Are you ready now Liv?" Natalia asked with hope shining on her expressive face.
"We're in this together right?" Olivia asked needing reassurance.
"Always." Natalia replied as she pulled Olivia's arms tighter against her. She tucked her head into the crook of Olivia's neck and placed a tiny kiss there. She heard Olivia sigh in response.
"It's good to be home." Olivia said as she dropped a kiss onto Natalia's temple. Both of them smiled as they held on to one another as if they'd never let go.
In each others arms they had found a home. In each others chests they'd found a heart. And in each others lives they'd found an equal.
