Destined for solitude
A man and his offspring
Created by his forefathers
They are born of evil desire
They are born of guilty pleasure
Blinding to heavenly treasure
Welded in sulfur and fire
First born is pride
He taints the siblings
A maze with no guide
Oldest sister is lust
Never leaving father’s side
Even sometimes gaining trust
Following is greed
At times taking control
Fulfilling every “need”
His spawn is deceit
Flashing its seductive eyes
Convincing and complete
They infest and they bring decay
They linger and they conspire
To bring father to the mire
Leading his heart and soul to disarray
So we see the picture
Living in solitude
A man and his offspring
Destroyed by his own volition
...veritas et caritas...
