City, I have some questions I would like answered. Or perhaps the rulers of this playground would like a go?What are the conditions one enters and leaves under

I completely understand, but outside of the guides, people don't really seem interested in compiling information on this place. Perhaps because everything here seems so fickle? You've seen the various guides, right?
Yes, people come and go here all the time. Half the time when they return they have no memories of the place, are from a different time than before, or even seem like an entirely different version of themselves altogether. Sometimes when someone seems to have forgotten, bits and pieces of their memories will return to them over time.
And yes, the mechanism for the clock is underground beneath the carousel, but a forcefield prevents anyone from interacting with it directly. From the air the entire city looks like the face of a clock, with the twelve apartment buildings standing in for numbers.
One theory is that any strong emotion fuels the clock, another is that only negative emotions do it. I tend to believe the former. It's also theorized that the clock needs to be reset every year to stop the apocalypse. It's been done twice so far... there's no one here who knows about anything beyond two years. Last year there was a big mess with people from each world having to give up sacrifices... actually that time of year is beginning to approach again.
[[ooc : No problem, he's used to dealing with much ruder people that this wouldn't even register as 'short'. And thanks! ;&hearts]]
Yes, or from after their death as well, a point which seems rather popular, actually.
I suppose the forcefield may be for the best, the clock supposedly being connected to the end of the worlds and all and the people's tendency for dithering around with something like that here. I've heard that someone managed to mess around with the clock and carousel at some point, it went out of control, and someone higher up in charge had to come and fix it. But that was long before my time.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any organized investigations into the city at this point. My own research into finding ways out has pretty much hit a wall. The Doctors had been leading expeditions underground to take a gander at the clock mechanism somewhat recently though.
A red, black, or gold ribbon sacrifice. You sacrificed your life, the life of someone from your world, or something else very important. Oddly the sacrifices were given back after a month. And there were talking animals that the deities seemed afraid of going around the city demanding dues at the time as well.

Hmmm. A different time. So this place is capable of pulling people from any point in times of their life?
A forcefield? How peculiar.
This place... mmmm. Are there still investigations being held? I wouldn't mind lending a hand to the cause.
....Sacrifices? What kind of sacrifices?
