There have been a lot of disasters lately, most known the is the Haiti quake and now Chile, there was also a tsunami in Hawaii and the flood in California, WTH?
The Olympics are over, I did not really follow it b/c I am a more of a fan for the summer olympics, The "We Are the World" remake premiered in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. All proceeds will go to the newly formed charity We Are the World Foundation LLC and will then be distributed to Haiti.
I was wondering what others thought of the remake? I have no idea who most of the artist are, esp the first random kid, honestly I felt it was an untouchable song and maybe a new song all together should have been made for this help crisis, but I am glad they kept Michael's original singing part in it.
Both vids under the cut, does the new version measure up?

The original "We Are the World" thundered up the charts when it was released in March 1985.
An unprecedented number of top pop musicians gathered at A&M the night of Jan. 28, 1985, following the American Music Awards, to record the tune, the song featured 45 American superstars.
The song and music video debuted on February 12 and premiered worldwide in a simulcast screening on 53 networks on February 13, 2010. The digital version of the song and music video are available on iTunes and YouTube for download to aid the country of Haiti in earthquake relief.
In one touching moment, Janet Jackson sings alongside video of her brother Michael from the original "We Are the World," recorded 25 years ago. (Michael, who died last June, co-wrote the song with Lionel Richie.)
Jackson's vocals will lead the new all-star cast through the famous refrain on the song's chorus, Richie said. And in the Paul Haggis-directed clip, archive footage of MJ singing from the original shoot will appear alongside his sister Janet Jackson in the new video.
"We have Michael singing that exact part [the chorus] and Janet singing along with him," Richie said, describing the moment as "emotional."
We are the world original 1985, some of my faves include: MJ and Janet of course, Cyndi Lauper, Bette Midler, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Huey Lewis, Stevie Wonder.

It starts after Jaimie Foxx chats for about 10 seconds, I could do without the rap part tho, it just seems off and the auto-tune does not help.
