[The forest was both familiar and unfamiliar to any that might be seen within natural earth. While flora and fauna were abundant, the type of flora and fauna were unknown. The trees vaguely resembled trees you might find in a pine forest, but the colors of the leaves and bark were distracting fluorescent blues and greens and purples. Though as extravagant as the trees appeared to be, the flowers seemed to want to impress more. No two flowers looked, and none were anything less than beautiful.
It was deep within this forest, though, that a young woman could be found in a clearing. While the young woman looked perfectly at home amongst the strange plant life, she herself didn't look entirely comfortable. Not with anything worldly that could be seen by human eyes, but by something else that seemed to plague her. If a person were to look closely enough, they'd notice the faint outline of another being standing near her. Human in shape, and resembling the physical girl, but she had the appearance that if you looked away for a second she'd be gone.
Candy seemed almost trying to escape this apparition, though. Stepping away from it every time it came close then trying to settle as she sorted through her mind.]
[Candy pays no attention to the sounds she hears in the forest for the longest time. The forest is peaceful but not empty. Strange sounds weren't uncommon, and being so new to the world she wasn't sure what size of animal would be out there which made it hard to judge anything she heard. Most of her world seemed safe so far, though, so she paid no heed to the distance life.
At least until that life became much closer, at the edges of her clearing in fact. Then there's a... person stepping into the clearing with her. She stands, clearly shocked by the other person's presence. This island was meant to be deserted, just her or the few people that clung to the palace. The forest was clear of people, though. Or so she had thought.
Though the question confuses her as she jumps up to face the man. Where did she come from? She'd been there the whole time! It was him who had appeared out of nowhere.
Candy threw a glance at the where the apparition had been, and sure enough Boa's still present and isn't easily frightened or bothered. She was always a more present figure in the dream world because here at least she had more life. Candy looked back at the newcomer at least, the look of surprise fading into confusion.]
[The girl didn't seem to mind the first response. She was sadly used to worse behavior in people at times, so she didn't have high expectations.
But the fact that he had expected her not to understand him threw her off. She hadn't really grasped the fact that the animal features marked him as more animal than man. Strange enough, that was a common thing in her world. That and worse.]
You're speaking plain English. It's not hard to understand.
[She looks concerned now, the apparition at her side flashing a look of annoyance before indifference.]
You didn't hit your head on anything out there, did you?
[Well he's speaking it. Or maybe she's speaking wolf... Candy tried not to let that thought distract her for too long. After all, she had company.
If he was trying to be intimidating, though, Candy wasn't really feeling it. She knew how to be afraid, but lately the stuff of her nightmares made the other man look like a puppy to her. She just wasn't getting a terribly dangerous feel from him. For now, at least. Even if she wasn't, though, the apparition never took her eyes off him and was careful to see what he was up to at all times.]
I talked to a table once. [She shrugged at that.] Normal's not really normal for me anymore.
