[Takes a seat across from him. Her demeanor and posture is very professional.]
"Neurosurgery is my primary area of expertise; however, I have also performed reconstructive surgery, organ and limb transplants, and various forms of internal medicine."
[He pours a cup for Natu and himself, handing the cup to her with a nod.]
In a town where such work may not be necessary, death is only temporary since everyone awakens after a day. It is almost entirely worthless to practice medicine when some rarely value their lives enough to care. Only those that are not accustomed to pain or children that need not suffer from trauma of returning back to life.
Our purpose as medical physicians has changed dramatically.
[He thinks on what Natu said for a moment and nods.]
I have considered this a possibility though I believe our purpose now is for moral and to prevent trauma from succeeding. Those that are too young and innocent to experience the pain and shock of death and return to life to remember such a fate is of certainty something that we should be mindful of to prevent insanity from taking hold on the young.
And I thank you for taking up the mantle as a doctor and as a friend. It is a tough course but a worthwhile one.
[He sighs and looks out his window from his recliner at the town that was false that gave a false sense of security. He remembers Ribbon's shock and her terror when he came to her door to help her and nods, returning his gaze back to Natu.]
To imagine being so young and experiencing horrors so tragic that no medicine can cure is far more tragic for a doctor that is trained to heal the sick and comfort the dying. To lose this ethic even in a town like this would only create monsters.
[He recalls what he did to his drone!wife and closes his eyes for a moment. A momentary lapse in his own sanity and a regret came to him when he thought of Grady and his plot to seek revenge. He slowly opened his eyes and gave a brief, but genuine smile.]
I thank you for reminding me just how important our task as healers are. Now when you are ready, I shall give you a tour.
[He smiles and nods. He's not about to mention the amount of debt that he accumulated while he was building this place and the add-on details that he worked on himself. A lot of time, effort and money certainly went in and putting in shifts at the hospital while he could certainly made his life that much more busy

[She'll stop by later that evening. Knock-knock-knockin' on his door.]

It is good to have you here. Please have a seat. Would you like some tea?
[He pours himself a cup as he takes his seat and gathered his thoughts.]
The tour will not take long. What will take the longest is the job synopsis itself. You are a neurosurgeon, correct?

"And what would you say is our new purpose, in a town where the laws of life and death no longer apply?"

"As noble a cause as any. I would be happy to support your efforts."

[She nods, finishing her tea and setting the cup back down before rising from her seat.]
"...Forgive me for asking, as there is no terribly tactful way to bring this up, but this is a paid position, is it not?"

Ah well. At least I'll only have to put up with it until I get my ring back.
"I must admit, I'm quite impressed. You've done quite a lot with the place, considering the circumstances."
