Know what's awesome?

A show with four quick changes, one under 30 seconds, in which the "designer" was so busy "making art" he never bothered to mention to any of the production crew that they existed, so absolutely nothing got quick-change rigged.  So there's the great one in which two of us have a minute thirty to pull a man out of one three piece suit and into another with tie change and hat change and we're having to help him undo his vintage 8-button fly.  And the "designer" gets mad that it's not working and rants about how things should be underdressed, apparently not aware thast if you want to underdress something, you have to fit it to be underdressed.  Which requires knowing about the underdressing when you're fitting it.  Which you'd think the costume designer, whose major function aside from the look is really the management of this kind of minutia, might have mentioned.

That and, you know, cotton suit pants look so hot after being worn on stage under the lights for 17 minutes under wool suit pants.

I work in theatre.  I have an infinite tolerance for unbridled arrogance.  The trick is it has to be accompanied by, at least minimally, competence.
