Alec stands in the lobby of the Inn waiting for Leela and the others to arrive. He's got the Holodeck all set up as an infirmary for the blood transfusion and his sister's up there waiting for her patients.

He's also strengthen the wards and locked the space down so that if on the unlucky chance that Derek escapes, he won't be able to leave.

The whole group arrives through that portal, carrying an unconscious Derek through the door and into the inn. "Alec, I have a towel in that bag on my arm, be very careful when you take it ok? Isly (Mistle) gave me some tranq darts that are pretty much guarenteed to knock down big ass prehistoric beastie."

They move him over to one of the medical beds. "If he so much as twitches his eyelids, stick him. We absolutely do not want him coming out of this before it's done. He could hurt us." Ok, and wasn't THAT the understatement of the year?

Whoever is carrying Derek has hold of a small, compact body of dead weight. He's bleeding. He's fish-pale, and his lips are blue. What little breath he's taking is shallow and nearly undetectable. About the only sign of possible life are the occasional short spasms, similar to those of an animal in its death throes, that wrack his frame.

Alec's twin, Laruna, comes over and starts running her hands lightly over Derek, doing a quick check up to see how stable he is. She starts frowning deeper as she exams him. "If we're going to give him a blood transfusion, we better do it soon."

Alec, on the other hand, nods to Leela and removes the tranq darts carefully, setting them down on the stand near his bed.

Cluelessly, Jun says, "Blood transfusion?" Then, "Where's Eiko? What...how."

Also, she's attached to Derek's hand. If there's a free one. The other kneads what looks like a mess of ribbon. The hand kneading the ribbon appears wet with dark.

"Blood transfusion. And I don't know where Eiko is, not right now at least

Derek is still unconcious, the hand that Jun is holding on to cool and unmoving. There's a dribble of blood coming from the corner of his mouth. But when Jun squeezes his hand, his heart, laboring and near still, speeds up, just a little.

Yeee-ahh. Jinpei doesn't note the change in Derek's pulse. He's too busy trying to put an arm around Jun's shoulder and a hand around her wrist. "Let's let these people help them. Okay, Sis?"

Laruna, who looks alot like Alec, makes a noise in her throat which indicates, at least to Alec, that she's upset. "What did you give him? Whatever it was... it was almost too much?"

After a moment's thought she has the holodeck create some restraints for Derek, just in case. She'd rather use those than more tranquilizers.

She then goes over to Leela and starts cleaning a spot on her arm, "Hi, I'm going to be your bloodsucker for this evening," she says brightly.

"Look, he ripped the living hell out of a tree that was about as round as a couple barrels put together, and that was after he was shot. Between you and me, we weren't about to take chances

With Jun led away by her brother to get out of the way of the medics, Derek is alone on his bed. He's still as motionless as a corpse and not moving. Even the rpaid movements of his eyes under the lids have ceased. His mouth relaxes, opening slightly and revealing the growing eyeteeth.

Alec's taken up a perch slightly above Derek so that he'd be the first thing in his way. Best let the death impaired take the brunt, right?

Laruna hums a snatch of something that would embarrasses people if they knew the words and deftly sticks Leela with a needle, tongue sticking out a little in concentration. She then checks the things that need to be checked and goes over to Derek.

She jumps, can't help it. Then she stares up at the ceiling. Flexing her fist and loosening it, back and forth. Ok, curiosity wins out. She has to watch as the needle is stuck into her brother, the blood siphoning through the rubber tubing into a bag and from there through a network of more tubes into his veins. At least that kept the blood flowing from her into him, and didn't create a backdraft of blood that would flow from him back into her.

"Come on Derek, come on you can do this."

He lays there for the longest time, just as near-dead seeming as when they first brought him in. Long enough that it starts to look like the infusion isn't going to work.

And then he gasps, his body jerking and then his back arching in an almost impossible angle. A few more shudders threatens to knock him off his bed, and then he flattens out again.

Silence.

And then the screaming starts as his flesh seems to peal away from his body, then his muscle, then sinew. Bones started to crack under the surface, turning to ash as they forced their way to the surface and away.

His immune system had restarted, as had his regeneration, and now it was correcting the damage with a vengence, turning him inside out as it rapidly shed the inffected cells.

All of them. At once. Blood wells up from all his pores and veins, spattering to the floor in a waterfall.

Laruna jumps back with a startled exclamation, nearly stumbling into the machinery. This doesn't prevent her from getting some blood onto her though. From his perch above Derek, Alec calls out to her, worried, and not in English.

The twins have a rapid fire exchange in a lilting language, Laruna obviously trying to assure Alec that she's all right. She finally snaps at him and he subsides, returning to his vigil. Laruna hovers over Derek, watching carefully, but not certain what to do exactly, as she's never seen this before.

"Oh shi!!" Jinpei jumps back from the splash and tries to take Jun with him. He means to try and turn her face away from the scene.

Jun lets Jinpei move her around so that she isn't looking at what used to be the love of her life. She sobs.
