I was always under the impression that time sort of stops at home while we're here.

I'm not quite sure but I was told that if we were to return home then it would be as though we'd never left.

But no one knows what happens if we never come back.

No, not as far as I know.

I see. That's. . . Well, I'm not sure what it is! But at least I know now, right?

That's right! The only way to know for sure would be to get in touch with people from home but what are the odds of that happening?

It's a good thing I believe in miracles, hm? What about you, niña?

I would like to but after what the town gave me for Christmas I'm not so sure. I might as well just stick it out and enjoy the adventure for the time being even if I miss home a lot! Well, if you could call it that …

Ah, sí. This is a bit like an adventure, isn't it?

[ They were the worst Christmas presents ever, okay. They were worse than telling a child that Santa Claus doesn't exist. ]

It's a rather morbid adventure but it's an adventure nonetheless! It's too bad no one will believe a word of it back home.

They'll believe it when the time comes. That's how people normally are, you know? Aaaay, I remember when people first said the Earth revolved around the sun!

Or how about when everyone once thought that the Earth was flat?

Ah, I remember that! I proved the world was round, you know. Don't listen to Dinamarca and his brothers. But everyone already knew when I came back. . .

You did, did you? How fascinating! Perhaps you're someone whose name I ought to know then … perhaps my tutors mentioned you in my history lessons but I never paid enough attention --
