It's been pleasant so far, although I have several times had to remind Devon of the little talk we had the other day about how it's supposed to be my vacation, too, and not just hers.
This morning we played Barbies together, and then worked together on a collage for St. Patrick's Day --- rainbows, pots of gold, leprechauns, shamrocks, the whole bit ---to hang on the door. Then, while having lunch, we watched Watership Down for the second time in two days. (Serves me right for insisting that Devon watch it with me the first time even though she was afraid of the violent bunny parts, because now she is obsessed with it. Ah well --- it's a great film, so it's no chore to watch it multiple times.) After that, she very kindly allowed me a one hour nap (ahem), and since I had been up until midnight last night for our annual Oscar party with Jeff's sister and my mother, I really needed it.
We are currently completing the poster while listening to the song "Bright Eyes" from the movie. (Note to self: Really should try to track down film score. It is so lovely.) It's a sad song, but we like it very much. And, as a bonus, a fan has created a rather good video with bits from the film.
Here it is:

Hope all you moms out there who are also home this week with their kids are surviving the experience, and maybe even having a little fun, too. There are times I'd much rather just curl up with a good book (without being 'allowed' to do so by my daughter, within an alloted amount of time to read!), but I keep telling myself that this time with her is precious, which it is.
