It's been a long haul, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. This week I wrap up treatment with my two clients - today we had our last session with our kid - she couldn't even say goodbye to us 'cause she was so sad:( And on Wednesday we'll have our final session with our adult. This'll be much less emotional for him I'm guessing. I'll miss both of them I'm sure, but I am also relieved that August is near, and with it some blessed time off and outside of Corbett Hall. I feel like I live there sometimes!
Currently Edmonton (or should I say 'deadmonton' as one local paper has dubbed us thanks to our impressive homicide rate) is in the middle of another heat wave. Temperatures of 33-38 with humidity are not uncommon. At night it gets 'down' to 18 to 21 degrees. Sleep is wonderful if you can stand the sweat and the fan blowing over you at night. The kitties just lie in the hall, flopped out. No energy even to beg for table scraps. I guess this is a downside to living in a top floor apartment. There's so much energy being devoted to air conditioning right now that we had a 20 minute power outage this afternoon. Hopefully it will end soon.
In other news, K and I have picked a wedding location and date - next August 26 at the Devonian botanical gardens just north of the city.
