Roller coaster ride to Singapore
When I look back, everything that happened seems to be in a blur… Hehehe!
The flight of the bitches to SG…
Planning started when it was announced that Fahrenheit would be having a concert on December in Singapore last August. At first, I can't say yes because I'm not sure if my parents will allow me to watch a concert in another country. Night of August 30, when I went home after FFP's EB and Jiro's Birthday celebration, I asked my dad if I can go to Singapore with my friends and he said yes. At that time, I didn't tell him or my mom about the concert coz I’m sure they won't allow me if they knew that I want to go to SG because of the concert. So by the end of August, a dozen of my friends have agreed to watch the concert. At that time, Betsy, Ikay, Richel, Kathy, Tin, Daph, Josche, Ate MM, Ate Sandee, ate Gelai and I were the ones sure to watch the concert. By end of September, we already paid for the concert tickets that Tin bought. Early October, Kathy and ate Gelai backed out because of work. I also renewed my passport so we can purchase our plane tickets. Richel, Ate Sandee and I decided to wait for Ikay’s and Betsy’s passports to be processed so we can book our flights together. By first week of December, Betsy backed out because of personal reasons. 2nd week of December, Ikay’s passport was delivered but got confiscated by her mom. It was a very confusing week because we still can’t book without Ikay’s passport and her mom’s pretty much decided that she couldn’t go. That’s ten days before the concert and we still haven’t booked any flight. Hahaha. Since Ikay had her passport even though it’s confiscated, we constantly checked different flights to and from Singapore, checking where we can save more. We even considered going to Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur just to save some money because that time of the year, fare prices are really expensive. Too bad, my dad said he wouldn’t allow me to go if we’re planning on going to Malaysia. Hahaha. After deciding which flights to book, Richel asked her sister if we could use her credit card in booking our flights. Thank God she said yes because I don’t have CC and neither Richel. When she started booking, her sister’s credit card was denied for several times. Cebu Pac said they’re not accepting international CCs. A lot of problems are piling up. We can’t book. Ikay can’t get her passport. My dad’s not cooperating, I even felt like he’s gonna stop me from going and will not pay for my plane ticket. December 17th, plans of going to Boracay, Cebu or Tagaytay instead of Singapore were brewing already. Hahaha. Well, we can’t stop ourselves from losing hope by that time because we originally planned on going to Singapore on the 18th so that we can still rest on the night before the concert. But on the night of 17th, Richel managed to book herself a flight to Singapore, I don’t know how that happened, she wasn’t that confident about that booking either because when she tried on booking us, it didn’t go through again. She even called the customer service of Jetstar just to confirm if her booking went through and they confirmed it. So Ikay asked her mom if we could use her credit card for our booking, thank God she agreed. Morning of 18th, we went to her mom’s office with all our bags (I was late! I arrived past 11am hahaha when we agreed to meet at 9am. Hahaha) and booked our flights. Our fare cost us a wowing price of 21k. Hahaha. I’m sooooo sad for Ikay because we can’t persuade her mom to allow her. So our plane will leave at 2:55pm that day, we were very much in a hurry going to the airport then, because it was 12pm already and we were still in Megamall and we should be checking-in in an hour. When we arrived at the airport, we paid our taxes, went to the counter for Jetstar passengers and waited for our boarding passes. Richel was pretty nervous at that time because it seemed like there was some problem with her booking. And it turned out that she wasn’t booked. They were saying something like her payment has been refunded already. They even asked us if it’s okay if we leave without her! We were so mad because we knew that Richel even confirmed with the company the night before if her booking went through and they said yes, so how come they’re saying that her flight is not booked. They even sent her an itinerary, which signified that her flight was booked. So she went to the manager’s office to ask what’s this crap that’s happening, her sister even called her and gave her another credit card number and booked her again. It turned out that the first credit card that her sister lent her has some security issues that forbid her from booking our flights. Hahaha. After three hours in the air… nasa Singapore na kami!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeh!
Hello Singapore!!!
We arrived at Changi Airport in Singapore around 7pm, and ate MM was there already waiting for Richel.. She wasn’t expecting that ate Sandee and I were arriving with her.. hehehe.. we went straight to Hamilton Hotel to leave our stuff, ate for a while at a nearby food stall then around 8:30pm, we went straight to Conrad Centennial Hotel where our Fahrenheit boys were staying. Laine was already there because they checked in there for two nights.. We waited for the boys there because they were still at the stadium practicing for the concert.. around 11pm, tin and daphne arrived from the airport.. hehehe.. daphne didn’t even went to the room first because she’s soooo excited to see arron.. hehehe.. a few fans were also there in the lobby of the hotel waiting for the boys, there was even a time when they asked us to lower down our voices because we were super noisy (too excited, I guess! Hehe).. around 2am, a few fans were starting to arrive, meaning that the boys are already on their way to the hotel.. so we went outside the hotel, a barricade was set up on both sides of the way to the crew elevator.. Most of the Chinese fans were on the left side, and we, Filipino fans, were on the right side.. When the first van arrived, we were so excited that even Richel didn’t notice which of the boys were passing in front of us.. hahaha. First to get out of the van was Calvin.. He went straight to us! Weeeeh! I was super close to him when he went to our side, you can see it in the picture that I took! Coz it wasn’t zoomed or anything.. He’s as charming as ever! All smiles and everything! He never failed to dazzle me (ala-edward cullen ba to? Hahaha!)! hehehe.. next to get out was Arron.. and I was kinda disappointed with how he just walked straight past us, he didn’t even look at us.. he just waved and walked directly to the elevator.. he was the one I was most excited to see.. I don’t know, maybe he’s tired or something.. haaay.. next was Chun.. and My God, he’s soooooo thin! He better do something about his diet and projects, because I didn’t like what I saw.. he looked like he had some illness or something.. hahahaha.. but he’s still as handsome and accommodating as ever.. hehe.. we were a bit disappointed because Jiro wasn’t with them in the van so we went inside the hotel and saw their group of dancers went inside through the other door.. after a few minutes, I saw another van came, but we were too late when we went out because the other fans said that Jiro went in already.. I was kinda sad that night because I didn’t get to see Jiro, and Arron wasn’t in the mood.. haaay.. But still, we were lucky that we saw the three boys because some of the fans who were waiting inside the hotel didn’t even had a clue that they arrived already.. so they didn’t see even one of the boys.. hehehehe.. we went back to our hotel to rest, but due to our close encounter with the boys earlier, we were so high that we stayed up till around 5:30 just talking about the boys till someone banged on our door because we were too noisy.. hehehe..
The concert!
We woke up around 10am to get ready for the concert.. We left our hotel around 12pm to go to Conrad first to leave Richel’s laptop with Ate MM and then we went straight to Orchard Rd, specifically to Lucky Plaza, to look for Philippine flags that we will be waving in the concert.. We even went to Kinokuniya Bookstore at Takashimaya to look for some art materials to make the flag but we didn’t find any. Around 5:30pm, we went back to our hotel to leave the stuff that we bought in Orchard Rd.. We stopped by a mini-grocery store and bought balloons.. I thought of waving red, blue and yellow balloons to somehow represent our country.. hehehe.. We arrived at the stadium around 7:30pm and met up with Ate MM, Laine, Tin and Daph there.. they were seated in another section so we had to break up when we went inside.. They were in the premiere section, just beside the center stage, and we were in the first row of the a-16 block, left side of the stage.. Before going in, we were asked to leave our balloons outside. Haha Too bad. When we were seated already, we tied our Fahrenheit Family Philippines tarpaulin in front of us and a bunch of reporters and photographers noticed and interviewed us and took pics.. One of the interviewer asked us our names, how long have we been fans of the boys, how old we are, what our jobs are, if we are on leave from our work or what, how much have we spent for that trip, if we went to Singapore just because of their concert, and so on.. She mentioned which television company she was working for, but I forgot which company was it.. wahahahhaha.. a few minutes before the concert started, Chun’s father, brothers, nephew and niece arrived.. They were seated in the second row of the premiere section.. The concert started around 8:30pm.. It was a different feeling when you see them perform live.. I don’t like their dance steps that much, but I love how they moved, how they delivered every step, how serious they are with what they’re doing.. You’ll see that they’re enjoying and that they love what they’re doing.. They were sooo good.. They may not be the perfect boy band, they may not have the best voice, but you’ll notice that they have improved a lot since they debuted.. I lost count of how many songs they sang, I just enjoyed the whole show.. it was kinda funny to see them dance and not be in sync with each other.. but you can really see the energy that they’re putting in every move that they’re doing, in every song that they’re singing.. I was soo happy when they thanked the fans from the Philippines who watched the concert and even said ‘kamusta ka’.. The concert lasted for 3 exciting hours that we didn’t even feel passed by.. it was a great and memorable experience to see them perform live.. this concert really made my first trip outside the Philippines a fantabulous one! I’m never gonna forget this!!! Hehehehe.. so after the concert, we walked a few kilometers outside the stadium to look for a taxi that will bring us to their hotel.. all taxis going to and from the stadium were taken already, so we decided to go to the main highway to wait for a vacant taxi.. when we had our taxi, the driver asked us if we were from the concert of Fahrenheit and we were proud to say that we watched the concert and that we were from the Philippines.. hehehe.. the ‘feeling gwapo’ driver said that we only liked Fahrenheit because of their looks and that they’re not good singers.. we really defended the boys! Hahaha! When we arrived at the hotel, we went straight to the room to rest and chat and see the pictures and vids from the concert.. around 1am, the boys arrived and we were able to hand them more gifts and letters.. I even had the chance to touch Jiro’s hand when I handed him the shirts from Richel, and Chun’s hand when I handed him more letters.. I was really in a daze after that encounter.. Arron was in a good mood at that time too because he was smiling and he really looked to our side when he waved at us.. hehehehe.. we went back to the room to eat and wait for the boys' departure to the airport.. we went out around 3:30am because their flight was scheduled at 6am so we thought they will be leaving the hotel around 4am and will just wait inside the van in the airport.. we waited patiently outside the hotel, even though we were all tired and sleepy.. around 5am, some of their crew started getting on the shuttle bus.. around 5:15am, the boys came out, I was with Richel, Laine and ate Sandee on the other side of their van, and then Arron got on the bus.. I stayed right in front of him outside their van and he smiled and waved at me! Waaaaaah!! I didn’t even bother to look whoever got on the van next because I was so focused on waving and saying goodbye to Arron and he kept on waving at me too.. hahahaha! Then Daph and Tin went to our side too, waving at the boys.. hehehe.. it was soooo funny because Daph kept on shouting ‘bye baby’ to Arron.. and I was sure he heard that inside the van.. hehehehe.. after their van left, we decided not to follow them.. we went back to our hotel to rest and sleep.. hehehe..
to be continued.. :)
