They are the ones who said this would happen ;)
Tonight I ran a 35:59 5K.
Holy crap, my lungs are on fire. Well actually no, I feel fine however tonight I was reminded that when I push myself in cold weather my exercise induced asthma acts up. But seriously for a 35:59... I can deal with a tiny bit of wheezing.
Kenny set out tonight with the sole purpose of helping me break my time on Wednesday. I didn't think it was possible. Clearly he knows my abilities just a tad bit better than I do. This also proves to me that I don't push myself when running alone because without Kenny tonight I would have reverted back to my 42-45 minute 5K.
I will be one sore princess tomorrow and I am glad it is a rest day. However, I am already looking forward to Sunday's long run. I need a nice long slow but steady run. Speedwork is great... but I long for some endurance training.
1/30/2009- 5K
2r/1w Interval
Overall Time- 35:59
11:37 average pace
170 average HR
195 max HR ( <--- I think that might be a mistake on the Garmins behalf. This came 5 minutes into the run and my heart rate never jumped above 185 for the rest of the run. I wasn't even pushing myself here.)
