...It doesn't necessarily mean that someone is talking about you. It probably means you are a nut job and you run out doors in all sorts of weather. Your ears are cold because you don't have a hat/headband!
Tip Tuesday- Protect Your Ears!
I will admit I am a Florida Girl. Cold to me is anything lower than 50 degrees. So imagine my shock this winter season, my first winter of running, when I do not have any cold weather clothing. Yikes.
At first I thought long sleeves were enough, then I added long pants. But my ears were screaming. Here were my two remedies:
North Face Fleece Hat- In pink of Course Now I can't find a picture of my favorite pink hat online but have no fear, I shall reward you later when an embarrssing pic of me wearing it while camping!
This was the first hat I used for running and I loved it. It was just big enough to cover the ears and hold in my ponytail but small enough that it didn't hang over my eyes. I came to this hat as a fluke honestly. DH bought it for me as a gift so that I could say I owned a piece of North Face. I originally used it for camping but then switched it to running. It was great and versatile... until I ran the Museum Half in the rain. Yeah Fleece doesn't do rain well.
So while I still love my hat... wicking it does not do. How ever it makes and adorable fashion statement and I will continue to wear it socially! Which bring me to choice #2...
Atalanta Athleticwear Verve- At last, my favorite running skirt company made a headband. No embarrssing pic here just the official pic from their site.
When Atalanta originally debuted the Verve, they had a "Buy anything get a head band free" offer. So I took it as an opportunity to buy a headband and get a head band. I own two of these suckers and they match my skirts... which is awesome. Now I have never been terribly fashionable in life but at least my headbands and skirts match.
Over all the band does its job. It keeps the hair out of my face, the cold off of my ears and it is wicking material. Now I really do think I have an odd shaped head because it never looks as cute on me like headbands do on other people. But oh well, such is life.
Today's message is simple. Save the ears. You will thank me later.
