Pinkie Pie's MLP wiki page. Personality: Pinkie Pie can easily be described as an energetic, friendly, and incredibly random. Perhaps too much so in some cases, as her behavior can at times be off-putting to those around her. She has a great fondness for parties (and in fact this is her special talent, shown by the three-balloon cutie mark on either flank), something which could be seen as an annoyance given not everyone can handle several Pinkie Pie Parties in a week's time, or even less. More often than not she has a habit of coming off as rather childish between her pranks, tendency to ramble into different topics during conversation, and random outbursts, but still has moments where she seems much more intelligent. As mentioned, she's very fond of pranks, though steers clear of harmful ones and seems hesitant to prank more timid ponies. She also seems to be fairly brave, thanks to the teachings of her grandmother when she was younger, who told her to laugh when she was scared.
Though usually very cheerful and outgoing, Pinkie does have rather major 'negative' points to her personality. Drawing from the episode Party of One, Pinkie seems to have some serious insecurities and perhaps even some sort of psychological disorder. In this episode, her friends make excuses to avoid going to a party (thrown the day after a party for her pet alligator Gummy), but Pinkie soon finds out that they were lying to her. She quickly begins to believe her friends no longer enjoy her parties - if they ever truly did - and in fact no longer wish to be friends with her. The depression and betrayal she feels over this quickly pushes her into a state of psychosis that has her suffering from auditory hallucinations, among other things. She ended up throwing her party regardless, replacing her friends with inanimate objects that she gave voices to, but doesn't seem to realize they're not speaking for themselves.
The above situation seemed to be a one time thing, at least from what we get to see on the show. Pinkie generally handles her problems much better than that (though admittedly thinking her friends had abandoned her has been the most extreme problem she has faced), for the most part treating people well even in the face of anger. Despite several verbal (and somewhat physical) attacks on her person by Gilda, a rather mean-spirited griffon/gryphon/griffin/whatever friend of Rainbow Dash's, Pinkie simply tries to throw her a party to get her in a better mood instead of taking a more negative approach. In Pinkie's mind, there's very little a party isn't appropriate for.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Pinkie Pie's skills seem to be pretty varied. She is, of course, very good at throwing parties no matter the occasion (save for stuffy serious rich people parties, which she is wholly unfamiliar with), but has numerous other skills as well. It's assumed that she is pretty good at baking, living and working in what appears to be either a bakery or cafe (or both) called Sugarcube Corner. She also has a talent for singing and songwriting, making songs up on the fly several times throughout the first season of the show. Continuing with the musical theme, she seems capable of decently playing a number of instruments. Pinkie is also quite good at iceskating of all things, showing off the ability to do several tricks (including, somehow, skating on a single skate that is on top of her head, while she's upside-down) with ease. Lastly, there is her Pinkie Sense, which is the unexplainable ability to predict the future through a series of involuntary body movements. It should also be mentioned that, as an incredibly active individual (and also as an equine, cartoon or not), she is capable of traveling good distances on hoof, and seems fit despite possibly having a black hole for a stomach.
Moving on to weaknesses, the first that stands out is most likely her rather severe emotional dependence on her friends. Though always willing to make new friends, she's quite clingy when it comes to the ones she already has, even if it's generally only obvious when it seems like she's going to lose them. Unfortunately, with how often she acts 'childish' or 'immature,' those around her tend to have issue with taking her seriously in times of trouble. In the episode Swarm of the Century, she seems to be the only one in Ponyville who knows how to deal with the problem. However, with her friends used to her being random and not being as serious about a problem as she should be, they ignore her every time she pops up trying to get their attention while collecting the items that would save them from the parasprite swarm. Expanding somewhat on that, upon occasion she has difficulty explaining things properly, which leads to her being ignored (Swarm of the Century) or misunderstood (Griffon the Brush Off).

Samples
First Person Sample: [The gear is turned on... by something unseen. Or perhaps it's just too close to the camera, as almost immediately there's a surprised squeak and a female, black-fabric-covered butt jerks away from the screen. Moments later a
dark skinned, pink haired girl is visible, dressed in a black uniform many will no doubt recognize as belonging to Team Rocket. She's staring at her hands like they're the most interesting thing in the world.]
Ohmygosh! I have hands!
[This is, of course, something to be incredibly excited about. Her attention goes to her legs next and she pulls off a boot, bringing her foot close to her face and wiggling her toes.]
And feet! With toes and everything! This is a pretty strange dream, even for me!
[She finally seems to realize she's dressed primarily in black and her face scrunches up.]
Blech! Black's no good! Why am I even wearing clothes? I'm not going anywhere special!
[Her hands go to her shirt, and just as she's starting to pull it off, a yellow paw steps down on the Gear, turning it off. No free shows today.]
Third Person Sample: Pinkie wasn't sure she liked this Johto place. The novelty of having hands and being able to comfortably walk on two legs had quickly worn off when she realized how different this world was from Ponyville and Equestria as a whole. The pokémon were cute enough, especially Colonel Custard! But they all just made her miss Gummy terribly, and had her hoping her poor little alligator friend was being well taken care of. She had also quickly come to realize how restricting this world was as well. There was no lingering in the air, no ridiculously fast or high jumping, no hiding inside things one wouldn't expect to be big enough to hide a pony (or in this case, a "human"). She couldn't even pull wacky faces as well! It was enough to make her hair deflated, except that even that didn't happen here!
The pony-turned-human let out a gusty sigh and crouched down in a small flower patch, resting her chin on her knees as she picked a flower. She couldn't even eat some of the things she used to, like hay and grasses and flowers. Well, she could, but it didn't taste the same. Most of the time they weren't sweet or tasty at all, though she'd found a few flowers that were almost good enough. Colonel Custard toddled over and tugged the flower straight from Pinkie's loose grip, startling her from her thoughts. The numel chewed slowly, looking up at his trainer with his perpetually sleepy gaze. Pinkie stared back for a moment before a wide smile broke out over her face and she pulled her companion into a hug, rolling onto her back with him and burying her face in his fur. It was true that this world wasn't as cool as she thought it would be, especially with it lacking so many people she knew... but at least she could make new friends while she was here. She already had one in Colonel Custard, after all. Maybe she could throw a party? Everyone loved parties!
