[He pauses at that.] Though yeah, there's stones as well. Though I'm pretty sure you can use a stone to stop them evolving too.

I guess my real question is why they change at a certain level...

I guess they grow bigger in a lot of cases. In the game their stats increased, so they'd be stronger and have better defence and stuff.

Oooh. But why just at that level? Why not sooner?

[ttlyahero]

They have to gain enough experience first!

[partyofwin]

Well if you think about it, you can't grow up until you learn new things and experience stuff, right?

Yeah, but when I grew up I did it slowly and I didn't suddenly change into something else entirely!

That's true! I guess it's just a quirk of their species.
