SBIFF Volunteering Stuff

So, I volunteered for the second time yesterday. This time for the Pre-Production team at the Arlington.... So awesome!!

Well, it started out the same as my first shift at the Lobero theater. Just setting up a lot of metal barricades to form the lines for people, the press, and the red carpet. Then came the fun part..... I got to block off a whole section of State Street! Yay! The festival wanted to block off that part of the street to cars in order to leave space for the "important" people to arrive. Setting up the signs was fun, and I have to say that it was also kinda funny seeing all the people who were so confused that they couldn't just keep driving straight down the street.....

Oh, so then I got to help roll out the red carpet. Later it was so windy that the red carpet kept flying away. The second time that happened it hit me. So yes I can say now that I got hit by the red carpet. Not that it is that interesting.... That thing kept flying away no matter what. I was standing at the end of it to keep it anchored, but it still managed to fly away and trip me in the process. Hee hee hee!

Oh, and the security guards were so funny. They take their job so seriously and kept stopping me to ask me where I was going. I guess they just didn't notice the purple volunteer shirt that I was wearing like everyone else..... Ah, well. So funny.

I guess that is all for now. Haven't gotten to see any films yet because the one I wanted to see has been canceled due to the fact that it is a Japanese film that was sent with Italian subtitles....... Grrrrrrrrrr. Someday I will have to track down the film called Glory to the Filmmaker.
