My summer doesn't really feel like a summer. I haven't spent a single day on the beach because no one is around, and most of my friends are in Seattle. That, and I work 3-at least midnight every night except Saturday, leaving me with up to five hours before I go to work each day to do something...Don't get me wrong, work is alright, I just wish more people were around and I had more time to do stuff like a normal person.
On the work note, there was a CRAZY crash today in Watson. A logging truck tipped over on this SUV, and all the logs fell onto it. The truck snapped in half at the bottom frame (not the cab, but the back trailer bed where the logs go.) The truck driver climbed out and was OK, but the lady in the SUV was stuck for an hour and a half until the 100 officials nearby decided to use the jaws of life to get her out. She was airlifted to a trauma center in SJ with MINOR injuries...she should be fine. I can't believe she's still alive! Crazy, crazy stuff, but exciting nonetheless. And we almost couldn't run the paper in color because the blue plate broke (luckily the foreman answered his phone on his day off and came to fix it.) It will be on the web on Thursday, be sure to check out the pics. I'd give it to you now, but it doesn't develop a link until the day it goes live (I'm also the web manager.)
