new year's goals/resolutions!

Jan 02, 2012 00:44

1) Keep relatively fit and healthy.
- Go swimming at least once a week.
- Stick to previously decided eating regulations AT ALL TIMES.

2) Put myself out there more. (This is a pretty general one, I know, but it just applies to so many areas of my life!)
- Take more chances when it comes to talking to people; to stop being so closed off and force myself to talk to and get to know people.
- Find out about joining the reading and creative writing clubs at college.
- Continue writing regular articles for the English and History magazines.
- Look into work experience at a local newspaper.
- Play a significant part in at least one charity event.
- Aim to say at least one thing in class discussions per lesson.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Actually make an effort to find a job!
- Look into regular volunteer work.

3) 'Broaden my horizons' - go to as many wonderful places, meet as many wonderful people and do as many wonderful things as possible!
- Go to a major music festival with friends.
- Go away with friends.
- Arrange regular trips into Liverpool and other relatively exciting/interesting places in the area instead of just sitting around in the village all the time.
- Start up climbing again.
- Go to at least three concerts.
- Arrange a shockingly fantabulous 18th birthday party.
- Attempt to have some kind of love life, by maybe, oh I don't know, ACTUALLY LETTING PEOPLE IN, for a change?! Might be an idea -_-
- Think in a serious, adult-type way about what I want to do at university/with life in general.

4) Get all As and Bs in my A/AS levels.
- Draw up revision schedules at the beginning of every week and ACTUALLY STICK TO THEM (as much as possible...).
- Pay close attention in class instead of daydreaming/talking to Sophie/drawing ridiculous cartoons.

Chances are I won't achieve every single aspect of all of these, but I'm going to try my best. And, I really wanted to avoid quoting insanely cheesy lines in this entry/journal/life, but I'm just going to have to - 'Aim for the moon; even if you miss, you'll be amongst the stars.' I'm sorry. I really, really am.

Happy 2012, everyone! (and by everyone, I mean the few people reading my journal). Here's to making it everything we want it to be, and to being the best possible versions of ourselves. :)

new year's resolutions, why so cheesy though, uncharacteristically good mood, 2012!
