Times are changing....
Being flexible I think is the most important quality to have in life. I think Patty Loveless said it best when she said in one of her songs, "life's about change and nothing ever stays the same..." She's right...nothing in life will ever stay as it is. That's hard to put into context. I think about my life...about my friends and my family...about everything I know and believe. All these things one day won't be as they seem.
Today Change came knocking on my roommates door. And it told him that his career is about to be no more. In eight short days, his company is folding. I feel his pain. The first time I moved to Louisville, my first job closed its doors three months after I started. It was tough. You basically start from scratch. What you work so hard for, is now no more. But that's what makes life interesting. If things like this didn't happen, how could we grow as humans? How could we experience new adventures?
I know my roommate well enough to know that he will take this in stride and use it as a positive experience. I know it hurts now, but he has felt many of life's pains before. And through them all, he has survived and grown to be a wonderful individual with a pleasing demeanor.
So times are changing...isn't it great.....
