the 4th of july was fun. i have had a fantastic four days off since thursday. i spent a good chunk of time with joel, which is always nice. but it's back to work tomorrow.
for the 4th we barbecued here at my house with joel's friend ryan and then we went down to sam songer's house where we have gone for the past few years (aside from last year, because joel worked). we got down there around 8:30, and we shot off fireworks for a good hour until the downtown fireworks started. walked around the corner and watched the fireworks across the river (sam's house is right under the ross island bridge). then joel and i finished the night with our fireworks from about 10:30 to 11:00 and then we took off and were home by like 11:30.
we were supposed to go hiking on saturday but joel mis-read his work schedule... i might try to get off early next saturday so we can go, or we'll just have to wait until the next saturday i get off.
i went down to the blues fest with my roommates today. it's been going on since thursday and today was the last day. perfect weather. wished we would have stayed longer, but at least i know what it's like for next year. and now i'm gonna hop in the shower and relax and hopefully be in bed around 8:00 so i can get up bright and early tomorrow morning at 3:25 to open at starbuckssss. yesss i love my life. hahaha.
