I got back from a week long tour to Germany yesterday. The tour was with the Lancashire Youth Concert band, of which, I am the principal saxophonist.
What can I say, the weather was lovely (for the most part), we had air conditioning on the coach (as opposed to the spain tour when we didn't), however the sir con had 2 settings - on and off, it was FREEZING!
The food was so-so. Some days it was really nice, and other days it was like "What the heck IS this".
Also, if I ever have to play the 'On my own' solo in Les Mis again, I will scream.
And then, when I got back (after 24 hours on a coach), the front door wouldn't open. My Grandma had to come and get me from Preston. Mum, Dad, Em and Dan were in Croatia whilst I was in Germany and only got back a couple of hours later, so I had to wait at Grandmas for hours, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I just wanted to have a shower and curl up on the sofa in front of the Starsky and Hutch episodes I had recorded.
We have cleaners around every other Tuesday, and apparently when they left, the bottom bolt on the front door had been slightly open and that put enough pressure on the locks so that they wouldn't open. Dad had to really force it.
However, when we did get in, the was a letter from college telling me I got 118 in my grade 8 Sax exam. That's 2 marks off a merit and 18 more than I needed to pass.
My Elizabeth Swann costume for
velven's party this month.
velven lent me this green velvet waistcoat to go over my brown trousers, brown boots and white pirate shirt. I also have a straw tricorn hat and a 'Jack Sparrow flash and clash cutlass', which is basically a plastic sword. Its made for ages 6+ but the shoulder-strap-thingy fits me when its at its biggest which I was very amused by.
I also have a load of new fandoms since I last posted.
'Starky and Hutch', 'Good Omens', and 'Due South'.
Usually I get into 1 at a time so I can thoroughly search the web for the websites with the good episodes guides, screencaps, fanfiction etc.
This is what happened with Starsky and Hutch. I began watching it on Bravo after I finished my exams and found that I had nothing to do in my evenings any more.
I started looking for stuff on the web, and then I had a couple of conversations with
velven. She persuaded me to watch Due South and read Good omens. Both of these were very good, and because of that, I'm hooked on both. I've read Good Omens twice now within the last week or so.
Unfortunatly, Due South was being shown on ITV2. I managed to catch Call of the Wild parts 1 and 2. These were the last episodes on the last series and the show has stopped airing. :( (Although I have to agree with
velven that RayK is way better than RayV. Lol).
However, this has not stopped me from searching the web for DS fanfic. I am so pathetic sometimes ...
I think that's it for now. I really have to update this thing more often.
P.S. Yey for England winning the second test in the Cricket.
