We are the champions my friends...

Oh yes, we so are the champions! I had an archaeology module called monuments and landscapes this afternoon, this is where we learn how to record features in the landscape. Today we had a practical session outside (where it was wet and freezing btw), we started at one peg, and using surveying instruments, we had to go up the hill to measure how high it was, and then come back down again. The closer you got to your starting figure, the better you had done at the exercise.

I was in a group of 6, along with tiddlypip and shona_bobs. We started at a height of 6.66m (a made up figure representing how high above sea level we were). The top of the hill was 16.01m.
We got to the bottom, and the tutor for this section of the module (Dan) took the last measurement for us. Bear in mind, that the average discrepancy when doing this exercise the first time is about 2cm. If we had a discrepancy of over 15cm, then we had to do the whole thing again (and it took an hour and a half the 1st time).

Dan asked us if we wanted to know how far out we were.
And then he told us that we were about 3mm out.

3mm!!! We rule!!!!!

i achieve things, i haz education
