Finally I find somewhere that I have people I can relate with. I have been a member of LJ for a few years but never thought to look here for any other partners of TGs. I joined this community a few days ago but wasn't able to dredge up enough energy to put up a post until now

My long time best friend and I became lovers and the transition went pretty smoothly, she was not TG but probably should have been. She would probably have been happier had she known this option was available to her, unfortunately we never got the chance to explore that facit of her life, she died suddenly six months after we became lovers. She was my first lesbian relationship.

Since then, I've found my perfect partner in life, an FTM in early transition. We too have our ups and downs and even though your partner is transitioning very quickly, mine is taking it very slowly, maybe too slowly, as his self-image has left us pretty high and dry in the sexual arena. I love him dearly but sometimes I get so frustrated! I really look forward to him becoming the man he is and the constant delays; financial, current location, lack of outside support, etc., have led to a long-term depression that has been very hard for me to help him out of.

I too, look forward to making friends in the TG community, but find it hard to find someone who is about my age (45), with a similar history, I have two grown boys and my first grand-baby on the way, was always bi-curious but too chicken to do anything about it (until Emjay and I got together), and have since found that I 'love the person, not the package...'. I really think it had a lot to do with, finally, coming to love myself...

Anyway, I too am a good listener and would love to have someome to talk to about this journey of ours. Feel free to contact me if you think we might have some common or uncommon grounds to build a friendship on. And remember, to always, 'take care of you...'.
