Aaron and I had ever so much fun! We didn't end up sledding after all, as the snow was melting into slush. But at the antique store downtown, which is also a used book store, Aaron found some books and I found a record that is of important news broadcasts and speeches from the WWII era. I also scored a book on diplomacy by Henry Kissinger for four dollars. We went to visit Katy and Matt in their new house and Trent glared at Aaron the whole time. We read Harry Potter (the fourth for him, the fifth for me) on the couch. At least I read a little before I fell asleep on him, which is one of my all time favorite things to do. AND we listened to Up With People, this fabulous record album of my dad's, circa 1965. Here are some of the lyrics, which ought, according to the comment on the cover courtesy of John Wayne, to make you feel like getting up and doing something for your country:
You can't live crooked and think straight
Whether you're a worker or the chief of state
Clean up the nation before it's too late
Cause you can't live crooked and think straight!
Written lyrics really don't do these songs justice, so you can bet I'll be singing them next time you see me. Aaron and I do the title song really well together. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got this compelling urge to go do something for my country!
