What's a girl got to do to get a job in this town?
Daddy said that I have to show them that I'm interested, so today after I showered, I dressed nicely and even put on make-up. I marched into Bob Evans and said in my polite voice, "Hi, I put in an application here last week and I haven't heard anything, so I was just wondering if those positions are still available." They said they'd call me if they were interested.
So while I was out that way I picked up an application from Subway which, aside from many errors in sentence structure, includes math problems to be done without a calculator. I know they have a cash register that adds for them. It's right there and I've seen them use it.
I've also applied at Wal-Mart and D&E and let the people at Elkins Cellular One, where I worked last summer, know that I'm interested if they can use the help again.
But guess who did call this morning? A man, about the message I left when I called about the ice cream truck job! He wanted to interview me today! I asked him if it paid by commission and he said yes it did, so I told him I was no longer interested.
