Today it did not rain. This is noteworthy since today's not-raining broke a string of 19* days with measurable precipitation.
This low pressure system started at the upper levels, worked its way down through the atmosphere, now has surface features, kept being sustained by MCSs for days at a time, has exhibited spiral rainbands, has been sitting in place for about 2-3 weeks, and keeps trying to organize itself into a hurricane. If it was located over the ocean, it would have become a hurricane. As I said to a classmate the other day, if the rain keeps up, it *will* be over the ocean.
