I've been absolutely amazed the past few weeks with this, and I want to share it with all of you:
I'm sure you guys have seen them or heard of them... They're called Mel Bracelets & they're everywhere! When my aunt (by marriage) Melda passed away from cancer a little while ago, her friends at Delta Airlines had the idea of selling these beautiful bracelets, for $10 each, to give the profits to the hospital that Mel was treated in for so long.
She was such a wonderful, bright, positive woman that this movement has progessed from a family-and-friends-run small event, selling bracelets out of bags at work, at school, and to our friends, to seeing them EVERYWHERE. I've seen people with them on all around mansfield: video mania, restaurats such as Bertuccis, some at westfield, even some of my best friends had them that I didn't know about! My mom saw a tray of them at Frugal Fannie's the other day. They've been spotted all the way down to Florida, because Mel was a flight attendant and had so many friends across the nation.
They plan to go on Oprah soon, and are beginning to sell them internationally.
I'm so proud to say this woman was my aunt. What an inspiration. I can't even believe it. My family is so amazing I can't even stand it. I'm the luckiest girl on the face of this earth.
PEACE & LOVE FOREVER
This is for you Melda =)
We love you sooo much
