(no subject)
So I hang out on tumblr a lot. Awhile back I made the mistake of telling a friend my url in a facebook comment. Thus began a super-exciting adventure in which non-fandom friends were indiscriminately made aware of my tumblr and weird fannish tendencies. One of those friends is also my mom. So that was awkward, but I made a decision not to "back down" and post more normal things or stop cussing every other word/posting lots of interspecies lesbians in my tumblr safe space. And mostly, I'm cool with it. My mom is chill, my friends are chill. It's never been brought up.
But sometimes I really wish I had an account somewhere on the internet that no one in real life knew about.
The problem is I can't help mixing things. I mention tumblr with peeps on facebook, I link to my LJ fics on tumblr. Basically I have no way of knowing who is reading anything I do, and sometimes I want to have an outlet where I can build a persona completely independent of my real life. Where I can rant, no holds barred, about anything and anyone. No offense to any real life friends reading this, of course. I love you dearly, but maybe you understand the feeling.
