You don't have to conform to the "drunken college kid" stereotype at all.
Neither of my roommates or I ever go out drinking, doing drugs, or anything stupid like that, not that I ever have, but you know, basically it doesn't change in college unless you want it to. haha

I actually know a lot of kids who don't do any of that nonsense and no one is going to badger you about "being lame" if you don't do the things that a lot college kids do. In the beginning of the year I met a bunch of kids who asked me if I smoked & I told them that my friends back home do, but I never had, and it was left at that.

Actually, I guess you could say that one of my friends I met up here went through a reverse college experience of sorts. He used to smoke and go partying a lot and realized that this wasn't what was going to get him ahead & the way he'd get a good education. So he cut out the smoking and cut down a lot on drinking. He's doing a lot better in school, and honestly, is a lot more fun to hang out with now. haha

Honestly, I think a lot of it depends who you socialize with.
