Yeah, I'm really sorry you're in a bad mood, but this is an awful post. Can you actually be saying that it's wrong or even SURPRISING that her parents want everyone to think of nothing else? I don't think that perspective exactly comes into it. They believe, or they want to believe, that she's still alive. If she's NOT, finding out sooner will probably help that catch the killer sooner, hopefully before he does it again. I don't presume to know what they're feeling, but from what I can gather, they're trying to keep up the search and keep themselves from breaking down, not least because they have two other children. It's worth remembering that Soham - which DID attract the same hysteria - was over much faster; it could easily have developped (sp?) the same way.

As far as I'm concerned, your disclaimer doesn't really excuse much. You've already defriended me so you won't mind me responding in kind. I don't know if you're trying to be funny with the "feed her to the rats" line, but I personally don't find it funny. It's your journal vs my right to comment, though, so it's probably best if I don't read you anymore. Best of luck for the future, and hopefully you'll never be brought to the kind of situation Madeline or her family is currently in.

If you're that offended by my views on a kid neither of us know, yeah, it probably is best that you don't read my journal. To be honest, I defriended you because I can't remember who you are, so I doubt I added you because we agree on fundamental issues.

I hate children, and I hate selective media hype, so this story ranks pretty high on the "annoying me" list. I suspect there will be another post to follow when they find bits of her somewhere, so probably best to get out now before you dirty your eyes any further with my lack of concern over the issue.

I hope you find something more to your taste to read.
