The Ontario Ministry of Education Does Something Right
Now that is news!
Starting September 2010, Ontario high schools will be introducing a Gender Studies course as a grade eleven elective.
Too bad it can't be a compulsory course. After all, that careers class I had to take in grade ten was a bullshit waste of time. (My teacher literally incorporated watching Grease into a lesson in order to fill time. Normally I would not be opposed to such things, but most of the class had been filler anyway.) Gender Studies would have been infinitely more interesting.
At any rate, it's pretty cool considering that The Miss G Project is what prompted this. Yay activism!
