I'm not denying that
scans_daily was a "piracy-lite" site. I'm not saying that posting eleven pages of a twenty-two page comic is my right, that it's legal or falls under fair use. It's not. We just got away with it.

As for G-W, their blogs (GWOG, GirlsReadComics, InsideOut, and Designated Sidekick) have been very inactive. Like I said, I don't mean to chastise them, since G-W does do good things other than blogging.
But the thread in question was this one. I may be generalizing, and maybe I'm just not reading the right threads there, but I just get the impression that a lot of them haven't been following it.
Maybe I'm just upset that all those people whose blogs I read, that were in my eyes champions of female characters/women in comics, haven't said a peep about the characters I care about just when it seems they could be "in trouble", and when those irritating comments were made at NYCC.
Since they helped me discover comics, I kind of depended on them talking about those issues, and I was disappointed that they failed to live up to the standard I'd come to expect of them. Thankfully scans_daily and a few of Nevermore's BSR columns IIRC filled in the gap. So to have Ragnell dismiss s_d as a bunch of wanky pirates who deserved what they got feels very unjust to me.
Again, I'm probably being horribly unfair to them and have no right to put all of this on them, but it's still disappointing.
(Edit: fixed thread link.)
