"Where's the platform? Is it under your sweater?!?"

That hilarious line was courtesy of Jack Layton.

May, as did everyone else, started off by really taking Harper to task over the economy and his "everything is fine, we've been doing a good job" attitude over the crises.

Duceppe, Layton and May seem to be the most well-spoken and clear when attacking Harper. Dion always seems to bring it back to his party in a way the other leaders do not.

I have to give props to Layton for saying to Dion: "I don't know why you've kept him [Harper] in power for a year if you disagree with him so much."

Oh, and: "Where is your platform? Under your sweater?"

Layton brought up the health of Native Canadians and coverage of medication. I could be wrong but I think this was the first time I've heard anything about Native Canadians brought up throughout these debates.

I couldn't help but cringe at Harper talking about playing the piano...every time he wears that faint, smirky smile, I cringe.

Duceppe pointed out by way of quoting Jim Flaherty, that when it comes to funding the arts, it's an ideological decision. Conservatives

CRIME:

Go go gadget May! She's really trying to steal my vote at times, especially when it came to the links to crime, illiteracy and education. Not to mention the awfulness of putting a child or teenager in prison for life alongside adult criminals.

Good for Duceppe for pointing out that Quebec has the lowest crime rate and everyone else for noting how Harper wants to "import American methods".

YES! Duceppe brought up Iraq.

"I think he must be an angel. He's positively glowing with righteousness." My mom, talking about Jack Layton.

Oh, Jack, don't talk in the third person.

Every time Duceppe opens his mouth, I find myself nodding and agreeing. This was funny, though: "Well, I won't be Prime Minister, and neither will three of you, but you might not admit it."

One point that Dion brought up that I was happy about, was the firing of the Canadian nuclear safety person...whose name and title I can't remember.

And now, I'm going to watch Don Newman talk. I'm sure I'll hear about the American VP debate in the coming days, with all the best clips hopefully turning up on youtube.

All in all, Layton, Duceppe and May were kick-ass, Harper was annoying (but I think he did probably come across better this time than last), and Dion was pretty much ignorable for the most part, IMO.
