[SoFoBoMo] printing papers, part III

No photo excursions since last weekend. fairgoldberry is gone until next Tuesday, so I plan to do a lot of photography in the interim. The few bluebonnets are pretty much gong down hill, and most of the new spring foliage is maturing, but I'm sure I'll find something :)

I went to hang some more of the pictures that have made the first cut yesterday and noticed that the pictures that had been up for a while had already noticeably yellowed. It's not even like they're in direct sun - the office has windows, but the pictures are out of direct sunlight.

The change wasn't really a strong yellowing. The images did lose their cool tone, though. The paper went from very cool to just slightly warm.

If the Baryta papers don't do that, that would be a big win. If you're printing untoned black and white images, the color of the paper base makes a big difference - it essentially supplies toning for you. Papers that will change that tone significantly are problematic. Epson Enhanced Matte is that way - it goes from cool to very warm even with relatively gentle florescent light.
