Mmm it's been a while, no?

What mostly compelled me to update was to announce that ben folds is freaking amazing. I saw him in concert in Dallas last weekend and good lord, he is an amazing performer and an even more amazing pianist. He has talent just oozing from his ears. By far my favorite musician. If you don't really know his music... uh... listen to it. But his recorded work doesn't do justice for his live performance.

On the way to Dallas, North, Brielle and I stopped in Fort Worth to check out the Kimbell Art Museum (Louis I. Kahn) and the Modern Art Museum (Tadao Ando)... both great buildings. North's studio professor said that the Kimbell is the best building he's ever been to, and he's been all around the world. Nuts. It's great though. The details are amazing... after all, Louis Kahn's famous quote is "God is in the details." I love Tadao Ando's stuff too (he mostly does concrete buildings) but The Modern, while still good, isn't one of his best and doesn't compare to the Kimbell. Then we ate at Bennigan's in downtown Fort Worth... called Melissa but unfortunately she was in Houston. Then we went on to Dallas, where we saw the Nasher Sculpture Center... it was great. This big sculpture garden (and a great building by Renzo Piano) in the middle of downtown Dallas... ah its great. We took some cute pictures. Then we drove around a little in the Highland Park area (classy.... we went to Design Within Reach, where the most expensive home furnishings ever are sold, and the Mac store) and then ate dinner at Pappadeaux... holy crap I love seafood. And I ate freaking fried alligator. It was yummy. THEN it was time to get onto the Nokia Theater at Grand Prairie for Ben Folds... and I've already pretty much written about that. Amazing.

Home for Thanksgiving... great to be home. I still like it here. Lots of work to do though... like really a lot. I'm kinda freaking out in the back of my head.

This looks like fun:
