“No need for apology, I should’ve been watching.” He adjusted the stack and looked at her.
“You are one of the Coumtesse’s Ladies, no?”
“Oui.” She nodded.
“Your mistress has just informed me that she is not to be disturbed until dinner.” The man told her.
By informed Cogsworth meant screeched at him when he knocked, asking if there was anything he could do. Actually she’d first told him to go fuck himself, and then that she was not to be disturbed until dinner. But that was merely schematics.
The Lady’s maid nodded at the information, looking momentarily unsure. It was very awkward. For the life of him Cogsworth had no idea what to do or say, Lumiére with his charm would. What would Lumiére do? Cogsworth never though he’d see the day when he’d ever ask that, especially of himself. But What Would Jerald Lumiére Do? Take her to bed. That would be Lumiére’s course of action. At least that would be the plan a few years ago, but not anymore. It seemed as if the curse had taught more than the master how to love. He was absolutely devoted to his… his whatever, the maid, Babette. They were not married, nor were they engaged, but to call it courting would be disingenuous. They were a… digression. Cogsworth looked at the woman who’d been looking at him as they stood in silence for several seconds.
Where was he? Right - what to do. Bed.
“Allow me to show you to your quarters, you must wish to rest as well.” He said. Not as charming as Lumiére, but what was he to do? She blinked.
“Merci. Merci beaucoup.”
